17 Connection Conn ec t ion Y ou can connect the projector to any type of v ideo equipment, such as a V CR, DVD player , digita l tuner , cable or satellite decoder , v ideo game console or digita l camera . Y ou can also connect it to a desktop or lapto p PC or Apple M acintosh system.
18 Connection Connecting A udio The pr ojector has a built-in mono speak er which is desi gned to pro vide basic audio functionality . Any ster eo audio input (if pr ovided), is mixed in to a common mono audio output through the pr ojector speaker .
19 Connection Connecting a DVI source device The projector p rovides a DVI-I i nput socket that allows you to c onnect it to a DVI source device like DVD player , or a V GA output device like not ebook or desktop co mputer . There are thr ee ty pes of DVI connector: DVI-A, D VI-D , and DVI-I.

23 Operation Operation Start up 1. Plug the pow er cord into the projecto r and int o a wall socket. T urn on the wall socket switch (where fitted). Check that the P ower indicat or on the projector lights orange after po wer has been applied. 2. R emove the lens cap .
24 Operation A djusting the projected image A djusting the projection angle The projecto r is equipped w ith 1 quick-release adj uster fo ot and 1 rear adjuster foot. These adjusters change the image height and projection ang le. T o adjust the projector: 1.
25 Operation Correcting keystone K eystoning r efers to the situatio n where the pr ojected image is noticeably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the projector is not perpendicular to the scr een.
26 Operation Operating in a hig h altitude en v ir onment W e reco mmend you use the High Altitude M ode when yo ur environ ment is higher than 3000 feet abov e sea level, or is hotter than 40 °C , or whenever the project or will be used for extended periods of time (>10 hours) without shutdown.
27 Operation Optimizing the image T o optimize the image, use the buttons on the projector or r emote contr ol, or use the on-screen me nus. For the operation of on-screen men us, refer t o "U sing the menus" on page 30 . The following instructions ar e optional.
28 Operation 2. Selecting an application mode The projecto r is preset with se veral pr edefined applic ation modes so that you can choose one to suit your operating en vironment and input source pictur e ty pe. T o select a operation mode that suits your need, press MODE.
29 Operation 2. A djustin g contrast T o adjust the value, press Left / Right on remote control or projector . The higher the value, the great er the con trast. Use this t o set the peak white level after you have previously adjusted the Brightness setting to suit your selected input and viewing environme nt.
30 Operation Shutting do w n the projector 1. Press Pow e r and a prompt message app ears. Press Pow e r a second time to turn the pr ojector off. If y ou don ’t want to turn it off, wait a few s econds for the message to disappear .
31 Operation M enu syste m Please note that the on-screen displa y (OSD) menus vary according t o the signal t ype selected. *When a V ideo or S-V ideo signal is connected, the function is only available w ith NTSC system selected. Functions available when rec eiving different signal ty pes.

34 Operation 3. Setting menu FUNCTION (default setting / value) DESCRIPTION Mute (off) T oggles projector audio between on and off. Vo l u m e (5) Adjusts audio v olume level. OSD Time (10) Sets the length of t ime the OSD wil l remain active afte r your last button press.
35 Operation 4. A dvanc e menu FUNCTION (default setting / value) DESCRIPTION Mirror (Floor front) The projector can be installed on a ce iling or behind a screen, or wi th one or more mirrors. Contact your dealer for the c eilin g mount bracket (optional accessor y) if you need to install the pr ojector on y our ceiling.
36 Operation 5. Information menu This menu shows y ou the current opera ting status of the projector . Some picture adjustments are available only when certain input sources are in use. 37 Maintenance Ma in te n an ce Care of the projector Y our project or needs little maintenance. The only thing y ou need to do on a regular basis is to k eep the lens clean. Nev er remo ve any parts of the projector e xce pt the lamp. Contact y our dealer if other parts need replacing.
38 Maintenance Lamp information Calculation of lamp hour W hen the pr ojector is i n operation, the duration (b y ho urs) of lamp usage is auto matically calculat ed by the built-in timer .
39 Maintenance R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, always tu rn the projector off and disconn ect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the project or to cool for at least 45 minut es before replacing the lamp.
