2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing this camera. Every thing you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with your camera. Vivitar makes capturing those special moments as easy as possible. Note: Your camera needs an SD Memory card (up to 32GB) for normal use.

4 Initial Camera Set up W hen p owering the camera ON for the first time th e camera will take you through the initial camera setup. Powering the Came ra ON 1) Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital camera. 2) Make sure an SD card has been inserted into your camera.
5 Setting the Ca mera Language 1) You will first be prompted to select a language for the camera. The Language selection menu will appear. Select the language of your choice and press the SET button to confirm the selection. 2) After selecting a language, you will be asked if you would like to continue with the initial camera setup.
6 Main Camera Modes Your camera has different modes for the various camera functions. You can switch modes by pressing the MODE button on your camera a fter the camera has been powered ON. Photo Capture Mode Use this mode to capture pictures with your camera.

9 Using Your D igital Camer a Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital camera. If your camera comes with a rechargeable lithium battery, make sure it is fully charged before the first use. Powering the came ra ON Press the Power button to turn your camera ON.
10 To change the active camera mode, make sure the camera is powered ON and press the M ODE button on the back of the camera. W hen in Photo Capture Mode, this ico n will display on the top -left corn.
11 Photo Cap ture Mode The Photo Capture mode allows you to capture pictures with y our digital camera. T aking a Picture 1) W hile in Photo Capture mode, use the LCD display on the back of the camera to direct t he camera at the scene you would like to capture.
12 Hide/Show the LCD Icons The display of the icons on the LCD screen can be hidden or visible as desired . 1) Hold the MODE button for 2 seconds to hide the display of the icons on the screen. 2) Press the MODE button again to re display the icons on the scre en .
13 Photo Capture M ode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟s Photo Ca pture Mode:.
14 Scene Menu The Sc ene Menu allows y ou to choose scene se ttings th at allow your camera t o a dapt pro perly to your current environment. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
15 Image Qualit y Menu The Image Quality m enu allows you to select the desired quality level o f the images taken by your camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher image qua lity level w ill also take up more memory on your camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.
16 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the L CD screen. 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟s default factory settings.
17 Distance from the camera – The subject‟s face must be no further than 8 to 9 feet (3.5 meters) from t he camera and the f ace must cover at least 20% (1 / 5th) of the p icture as „seen‟ on the LCD screen.
18 Facing the camera - The face of the subject(s) you are photographing must be facing the camera and must hold the pose for at least 4 t o 5 seconds until the green square(s) appears around the subject`s face. Once a smile is detected the camera will automatically take the picture.
19 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the L CD screen 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟s default factory settin gs. Color Effect Menu You can choose to add a color effect to the images taken with y our camera.
20 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the LCD screen 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟s default factory settings.

22 Metering Menu The Metering setting will affect how your camera focuses when capturing an image. Depending on your selection, the camera wil l be more sensitive to focusing on particular areas in the display and adjust the image color and lighting accordingly .
23 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options. 4) Press the SET button to select the desired option. 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item . 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item.
24 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options. 4) Highlight the “Date Setup” menu option. 5) Press the SET button to select the desired op tion. 6) The Date Setup submenu will open. 7) Scroll through the window with the RIGHT and LEFT navigation buttons.

26 This option will delete all of the content at one time. If you w ould like to delete individual images , use the delete menu in the camera‟s Playback mode. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
27 Photo Play back Mode W hen y ou first turn on the camera, the camera wil l be in Photo Capture mode by default . Press th e MODE button twice to open the Playback Mode. The playback mode will allow you to review and edit photos and videos that you‟ve already taken with you camera.

29 6) To delete all the images (including all unlocked photos and v ideos) on your camera‟s memory card, select “Delete All Images”. 7) Press the SET button to select the desired op tion. 8) You will be asked to confirm your selection. 9) The photos will be deleted as desired.
30 Rot ate Menu Use this menu to rotate the pictures that you‟v e taken with your camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options.
31 Protect/Lock M enu Pictures and Videos taken with your camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being made to the files. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
32 Slide Show Menu You can view a slideshow of al l the pictures taken with your camera by pressing the “Up” Quick Function button while in Playback mode. The Slideshow menu allow s you to set the interval length of time that each picture will display during the slideshow.
33 Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mode allows you to capture videos w ith your digital camera. W hen the camera is first powered ON, the camera will be in Photo Captu re Mode.

38 Image Sharpness M enu You can set the level of sharpness in the images taken with your camera. The sharpness level dictates if the edges of objects in the image are more or less distinct. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.
39 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item. 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the LCD screen.

48 Installing the Soft ware You must be connected to the internet to install and run the Vivitar Experience Imag e Manager software. 1) Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. The installation screen should automatically open. 2) On PC: The Vivitar Experience Image Manager Installer window appears.
49 Note: If you do not have internet access, y ou can still dow nload m edia from the came ra. Click the “How to transfer photos and videos from my camera to my computer” button for instructions. 5) If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window opens, choose your language and click “Next” to open the next w indow.
50 Getting Photos and Videos from your Camera to Your C omputer An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not disconnect the cable during transfer. Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their way to your computer. 1) Select the “Get Images” button from the Main menu.
