2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing this camera. Every thing you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with your camera. Viv itar makes capturing those special moments as easy as possible. Please read this manual carefully first in order to get the most out of your digital camera.

4 Initial Camera Set up Charging the Battery To charge your battery, first connect the USB Cable to your camera. Then follow one of the steps below: A) - Connect one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your camera. - Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on your computer .
5 Battery Power: Some features, such as Flash, will not work if the battery power level is low . W hen t he battery power is low the battery icon turns red and the camera wil l automatically turn of f a few seconds later .
6 T urning On the Camera Using the Camera W hen p owering the camera ON for the first time the camera will take you through the INITIAL CAMERA SETUP . Powering the Came ra ON 1) Battery Make sure the battery is fully charged. 2) SD Card Make sure the SD Memory Card has been inserted properly .
7 Sett ing the Ca mera Language 1) Y ou will first be prompted to select a language for the camera. The Language selection menu will appear . Select the language o f your choice by pressing the UP and DOWN direction control buttons. Then press the SET button to co nfirm the selection.
8 Main Camera Modes Y our camera has different modes for the various camera functions. Y ou can switch modes by pressing the MODE button on your camera af ter the camera has been powered ON. Photo Capture Mode Use this mode to capture pictures with your camera.

10 Computer Sy stem Requirements WINDOWS OS T o be able to download photos and v ideos to your PC u sing the V ivitar Experienc e Image Manager Software, you wil l need the f ollowing minimum configur.
11 Powering the Cam er a On/Off Make sure the Polymer(built-in) Lithium battery is fully charged before the first use. Make sure an SD card has been inserted into your camera. (SD card up to 32GB - SD Card not included) Please see Initial Camera Setup for more information.
12 Changin g Camera Mode Y our camera has th ree main modes: 1) Photo Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture photos with your camera. 2) Video Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture videos w ith your camera . 3) Playback Mode (for photos and videos) - Use this mode to view the photos and videos you have already take n with your camera .
13 Navigating the Menus Each camera mode has a set of menus specific to that mode. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll between the various menus for the current mode.
14 Photo Cap ture Mode The Photo Capture mode allows you to capture pictures with y our digital camera. T aking a Picture 1) W hile in Photo Capture mode, use the LCD display on the back of the camera to direct the camera at the scene you would like to capture.
15 Photo Capture M ode Quick Functi on Buttons Y our digital camera has a four-directional pad that functio ns as Quic k Function buttons: Button Function Lef t Scene Selection – Opens the Scene men.
16 Flash Options There are several Flash options available on y our camera. The options appear on the Photo Capture Mode LCD screen in sequence. T o change the Flash mode, press the UP Quick Function button until you arriv e at your desired settings.
17 Macro Sw itch / MACRO ON: Y our camera contains a Macro Switch that allow s you to manually enable or disable the Macro mode on your camera. While using the Macro mode, you can capture images at close range ( 15 ~ 30 cm). T o turn the Macro mode ON, slide the Macro Switch on the side of your camera UP to the flower icon .

19 Scene Menu The Scene Menu allows you to choose scene settings that let your came ra to adapt properl y to your current environment. Note: W hen selectin g the HIGH SENSITIVITY Option, by default the camera switches of f the FLASH automatically ( if it’s ON) to optimize the picture q uality .
20 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the L CD screen. 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera’ s default factory settings.

22 Face Detect Menu The Face Detect feature when set to ‘On’ allow s the camera to use a subject’s face as the basis for balancing the other colors and focus in the camera’ s display . This feature is meant to ensure that the color and focus of your pictures will be consistently sha rp and high-quality .
23 White Balance Menu The White Balance feature allows your camera to adjust the coloring o f the captured images depending on the type of light source in the current environment.
24 Multi SnapShots Menu W hen enabled, the Multi S napShots f eature a llows you to t ake six rapid snapshot s in a row with a single click of the shutter button. This feature can be eff ective when try ing to capture a particular moment in a sporting ev ent or other scenes with quick movement s.

Light Exposure Menu The Light Exposure setting helps y ou control the amount of light that enters y our camera’s lens.
26 W hen t he ISO is reduced, the image sensor in y our camera will be less sensitive to light and will optimize the image quality in envir onments with bright lighting. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the ISO menu.
27 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the L CD screen.
28 T o Enab le/Disable the Timestamp: 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIG HT direction control bu ttons to scroll and sel ect the Date/T ime menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through t he menu options.

30 Frequency Menu The options in the Frequency menu represent the frequency of the electrical current in fluorescent lighting sources in your locale. If your camera is set to a frequency that does not match your country’ s electric current, you may see waves on the images taken by your ca mera.
31 Y ou will be asked to confirm the formatting of the memory card. Select “No” to exit without formatting. Select “Y es” and press the SET button to begin the format.
32 Photo Play back Mode The Playback Mode allows you to review and edit photos and videos that y ou’ve already taken with you camera. W hen y ou first turn on the camera, the camera wil l be in Photo Capture mode by default . Press the MODE button twice to open the Playback Mode.

34 Photo Pla yback Mode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera’ s Photo Playback Mode: Delete Menu W hile in the Playback Mo de, you can delete pictures f rom your camera through the Delete menu. 1) View the photo you would like to delete.
35 All of your images will be permanently deleted. A blank ‘No Files Exist’ screen will appear . Press the MODE button to exit the ‘No Files Exist’ scr een a nd return to Photo Capture mode. Remember : All images will be deleted except images that are Prote cted/Locked.
36 Rotate Menu Use this menu to rotate the pict ures that you’ve t aken with your camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the cu rrent mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Rotate menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options.
37 Protect/Lock Menu Pictures and Videos ta ken with your camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being made to the files. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Protect/Lock menu.
38 Slide Show Menu Y ou can view a Slide Show of all the pic tures t aken with your camera by pressing the UP Quick Function button while in Playback mode. The Slide Show menu allows you to set the interval length of time that each picture will display during the slide sho w .
39 Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mo de allows you to capture videos with y our digital camera. W hen t he camera is first powered ON, the camera will be in Photo Capture Mode.

48 Date/Time Menu W hen y ou capture an image with your camera, the image will include a time sta mp with t he date and time that the image was taken. The Date/T ime menu all ows you to set your camera’ s date and time as desired. Y ou can also disable the timestamp for future images that will be taken with y our camera.
49 Auto Power Off Menu Y ou can use the Auto Power Of f feature in orde r to conserve you camera’s battery life. The designated time represents when your camera wil l automatically power off.
50 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera’ s default factory settings.
51 4) Press the S ET button to reset the camera to the factory default setti ngs. 5) Y ou will be asked to confirm the resetting to the factory d efault settings. Select “No” to exit the menu and return to the previous mode without resetting to the default settings.
52 Video Play back Mode The Playback Mode allows you t o review and edit photos and videos that you’ve already ta ken with you camera. W hen y ou first turn on the camera, the camera wil l be in Photo Capture mode by default . Press the MODE button twice to open the Playback Mode.

54 Video Playback Mode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera’ s Video Playback Mode: Delete Menu W hile in the Playback Mode, you can delete videos from your camera through the Delete menu. 1) View the video you would like to delete.
55 delete a locked image, first unlock the image, then select delete. If you do not want to delete all of your videos and photos, select ‘No’ and press the SET button. All images will remain on your SD card and you w ill exit the menu and return to the Playback mode.

57 Installing the Soft ware Y ou must be connected to the internet to inst a ll and run the Viv it a r Experience Image Manager sof tware. 1) Insert the installation CD into y our CD-ROM drive. The installation sc reen should automatically open. 2) On PC: The V ivit ar Experience Image Manager Installer w indow appears.
58 5) If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window opens, choose your language and click “Next” to open th e next window . 6) Select your camera model from the list and click “Nex t” to open the next window . 7) Click “Next” to confirm your camera model selection and to inst all the application.
59 Getting Photos and Videos from your Camera to Your Computer An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not disconnect the cable during transfer . Doin g so will cancel the transfer of any files on their way to your computer . 1) Select the “Get Images” button from the Main menu.
