2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing the Vi viCam5018 5.1 Mega-Pixel Digit al Camera. Everything you need to take quality digital ph otos and videos is included with your camera. Y our digital ca m era c an also be us ed as a removable disk . It enriches your life.
3 Computer System Requirements for Windows XP T o be able to download photos to your PC, you will need the following minimu m configur ation: Pentium III process or abo ve with Windows XP 128 .
4 128 MB or more ava ilable system R AM (256 MB recommended ), 150 MB free disk sp ace 800 x 60 0 or higher-resolution monitor di splaying millions of color s A Quick Look at Y ou r Camera.
5 Prep aring Y our Camera fo r Use Battery Installation Y our camera requires 2 AAA batte ries. T o insert the bat teries into the camera : 1. Slide and open the battery compar tment at the bottom of the camera. 2. Please make sure that the batteries are in serted with the corre ct polarity facing up.
6 Note: 1. If you do n ’ t intend to use y our camera for an ex tended period of time, please remove the batteries to avoid battery leakage and corrosio n. 2. Please don ’ t remove the batteries or power off your camera before down loading the t est photos or videos when you have not inserted an SD card.
7 3. Push the card in until you feel it “ click ” into posi tion. The top of the card should be flushed w ith the s urfac e of the camera. An icon will appe ar on the LCD scree n after you tur n on your camera. 4. Once the external memory c ard is inserted in to the camera all the images taken with the camera will be stored on the car d.
8 3. If there are photos and videos in the internal memory when you insert t he c ard in to your c amera , “ copy SDRAM file to your card, please wait …” will appear on the screen.
9 Power on your camera, the default mode i s Camera mode. 1. Hold the ca m era steady and compose your objec t as appears in the LCD screen. 2. Press the Shu tt er button and wait a moment for the pho to to be is ta ken.
10 Note: A “ Lo w Power ” m essage w ill appear on the LC D screen, if you se lect the flash function w hen the battery power is insu fficient. T o continue using the camera with the flash, ple ase install new batteries. Digita l Zoom function Y ou can magnify your s ubjec t usin g the digital zoo m.
11 Change Image R esolution Please insert a SD memory card first for i mage resolution changing . 1. Press the Menu button. 2. Press the Up/Dow n button to select the RESOLU TION option. 3. Press the Shutter bu tton. 4. Press the Up/Dow n button to select one of t he follow ing resolutions 5M/3M /2M/VGA.
12 2. Press the Up/Dow n button and select MODE. 3. Press the Shutter bu tton. 4. Press the Up/Dow n button and select SELF . 5. Press the Shutter bu tton again to con firm. An icon will appear on the top lef t corner of the LCD. 6. Press the Shutter bu tton to begin taking the photo .
13 Note : 1. “ Insert an SD Memory Car d ” will appear on the LCD screen when you pr es s the shutter button wh ere no SD memory w as previously inserted. 2. Y ou can playback the A VI file by using Quick Ti m e or W indows Media Player once it has been down loaded to your compu ter .
14 5. Press the Shutter bu tton again to stop p laying. Delete photo and /or videos Y ou may delete images directly from the memory card on your camer a. The im ages can only be deleted w hile in the playback mode. 1. In playback mode , pre ss the Men u button.

17 3. Please review the license terms a nd click the “ I A gree ” button to continue. 4. Let the “ PhoT ags Ex press” installe r create the folder wher e the pr ogram will be installed to , and then click “Install” .
18 5. Please w ait while the application i s being installed on your computer . 6. Once the application ha s been in stalled on y our co mputer , cl ick the “Fini sh” but ton to let the “PhoT ags Express” insta ller fi nish the installation program.
19 If you selected the option for t he application to start after pressing t he Finish button, the app lication will automatically lau nch. If not, then in order to open the application you need to double click on the Photags Express icon on the desktop.
20 If you choose to register at a later tim e click the “Continue” button to open the Photags Express application. Everything you need to g et the most from your pho tos The “PhoT ags Expr ess.

22 Share y our photos via E- m ail, Lo cal Printing and Create HTM L web pages for upload ing online. Workshop s feature allows you to Create Calendars , two-sided Greeting Cards and Postcards on standard pho to paper .
23 Download ph otos and v ideos to your PC Transfer Photos an d video images from y our camera to y our P C using PhoTags Express . Select the “Get Pho tos” button fro m t he top of the PhoTags Exp ress Main Menu screen . The Get Photos Wizard opens.
24 Choose w here to place your photos and video s. The default is to place all photos and v ideos into a folder under the C : My Docu ments My Pictures folder with the date w hen the photos were t aken as the folder name.
25 Cl ick the “Finish” but ton to start the dow nload process. A photos dow nload progress bar app ears showing the number of media (videos include d) down loading to your computer.
26 All the media – Photo s and Videos on your camera are now downloaded to your computer to the selected folder. Open the “Selec t Photos” mode of Photag s Express to view the thumbnails for all the media. You may now use PhoTags Exp res s to edit y our photos, create colle ctions and Burn CD`s.
27 The video w ill begin to play automa tic ally . T o replay the video, use the media controls. Once all the Photos and Video s have been dow nloaded to the compu ter it is recommended t hat you d elete them from the camera thereby prep aring your camera to take more p hotos and videos.
28 Choose “ copy pi ctures to a folde r on m y compu ter ” on the Removable Disk (F :) window . After you click “ OK ” , there w ill be shown so m e w indows on the s creen step by step, you a re only required to follow the description and click the buttons tha t are defaul ted by the system to finish transferring.

31 Appendix B: T roubleshoo ting Q : I have ta ken photos but my computer says, “ No photos in camera. ” What do I do? A : First ensure that you have in fact taken photos. Press the Shutter/OK button a few tim es to take s ome sample photos an d then try downloa ding them again.
