English 18 D A TE AND TIME SETTING The camera will record the date and time an image or audio recording is taken so that y ou can disp la y them during pla yback. Theref ore, bef ore capturing images, mak e sure the correct date and time are set. h T o correct the date and time setting, please see under HINT on page 20.
19 English D A TE AND TIME SETTING 3 Set the clock. 1 Select “TIME”. 2 Press the SET b utton. h The Set Time Screen appears . 3 Set the time to “19:30”. h The time is set in the f ollo wing order: Set the hour → Set the minute. h A 24-hour cloc k is used for the time display .

English 22 How to switch the recording mode Y our camera can captu re single still photos (si ngle-shot mode), record video clips (video clip recording mode), and also capture a series of still photos (sequential shots mo de). 1 Pres s the ON/OFF button to turn the camera on.

English 24 Adjust the monitor brigh tness The brightness of the monitor is adjustab le . Adjust the brightness to the optimum reada bility in the ambi ent light. 1 Pres s the ON/OFF button to turn the camera on. 2 Pres s the MENU button for at least 1 second.

English 26 CAPTURING AND PLA YING B A CK STILL IMA GES There are two modes f or capturing still images. In the single-shot mode , one image is captured each time the shutter button is pressed. I n the sequential shots mode, whe n you press the shutte r b utton, sev eral successive images are captured.

English 28 Shooting sequential shots When the shutter button is pressed, st ill image s are captured in succession. 1 Se t the camera to the sequential shots mode or the high-speed sequential shots mode (page 22). 2 Pr ess the shutter button to start shooting.

35 English CAPTURING A ND PLA Y ING B ACK STILL IMA GES Deleting fil es Y ou can delete files if you no longer nee d them. Y ou can delete the files one at a time , or all at once. 1 To delete files from the card, perf orm the delete procedure with the card instal led in the camera.

43 English USING THE SCENE FUNCTION Capture a still ima ge with a v o ice memo With the still-image-plus-audio a scene fun ction, y ou can add an audio track (abou t 10 seconds maximum) to a captured still image. This audio tr ack is called a “voice memo”.
