3 B EFORE Y OU B EGIN Congratulations for selecting the new REEBOK ® RB 345 exercise cycle. Cycling is one of the most ef fec- tive exercises for increasing cardiovascular fitness, b uild ing endurance, and toning the entire body .
4 P lace all parts of the exercise cycle in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. D o not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Assembly requires your own adjustable wrench and phillips screwdriver . U se the part drawings below to identify the small parts used in assembly .
5 2. Attach the Rear Stabilizer (3) to the rear of the Frame (1) with two M10 x 105mm Carriage Bolts ( 74) and two M10 Nylon Locknuts (63). 3. While a second person holds the Handlebar Post (6) near the Frame (1) as shown, connect the Upper Wire Harness (16) to the Lower Wire Harness (58).
6 8. Attach the Seat (12) to the Seat Carriage (1 1) with four M6 x 16mm Hex Screws (29) and four M8 Flat W ashers (18). 9. Identify the Right Seat Handle (79), which is marked with an “R” sticker . Attach the Right Seat Handle (79) to the Seat Carriage (1 1) with two M8 x 19mm Button Bolts (43) and two M8 Nylon Locknuts (56) as shown.
7 12. Firmly tighten the four M8 x 31mm Button Screws (69) in the Seat Carriage (1 1). Note: There are two Button Screws in each side. Pull the seat knob and slide the Seat Carriage (1 1) to the desired position. Release the seat knob and slide the Seat Carriage back and forth slightly until it locks into position.
8 HOW TO ADJUST THE POSITION OF THE SEA T For ef fective exercise, the seat should be in the proper position. As you pedal, there should be a slight bend in your knees when the pedals are in the farthest position. T o adjust the seat, pull the seat knob and slide the seat car- riage to the desired position.
9 FEA TURES OF THE CONSOLE The advanced console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more enjoyable and ef fective. When the manual mode of the console is selected, the resistance of the pedals can be changed with the touch of a button.
10 H OW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE B egin pedaling to activate the console. T o activate the console, begin pedaling. After a few seconds, the console displays will light. A tone will then sound and the console will be r eady for use. Select the manual mode.
1 1 M easure your heart rate if desired. Y ou can measure your heart rate using either the handgrip pulse sensor or the optional chest pulse sensor . Note: If you hold the handgrip pulse sensor and wear the chest pulse sensor at the same time, the console will not display your h eart rate accurately .
12 H OW TO USE PRESET PROGRAMS B egin pedaling to activate the console. See step 1 on page 10. Select one of the six preset programs. When the power is turned on, the manual mode will be selected.
13 H OW TO USE HEART RA TE PROGRAMS Heart rate program 1 is designed to keep your heart rate between 60% and 85% of your estimated maxi- mum heart rate while you exercise. Note: Y o ur max i- m um heart rate is estimated by subtracting your age from 220.
14 Begin pedaling. E ach heart rate program is divided into 30 one- minute segments. One target heart rate is pro- g rammed for each segment. Note: The same tar- get heart rate may be programmed for two or more consecutive segments. If heart rate pro- gram 2 is selected, the same target heart rate is programmed for all segments.
15 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR CD PLA YER, VCR, OR COMPUTER T o use iFIT .com CDs , the exercise cycle must be con- nected to your portable CD player , portable stereo, home stereo, or computer with CD player . See pages 15 and 16 for connecting instructions.
16 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO N ote: If your stereo has an unused LINE OUT jack, see instruction A below . If the LINE OUT jack is b eing used, see instruction B. A. Plug one end of the audio cable into the jack beneath the console. Plug the other end of the cable into the adapter .
17 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR VCR N ote: If your VCR has an unused AUDIO OUT jack, see instruction A below . If the AUDIO OUT jack is b eing used, see instruction B. If you have a TV with a built-in VCR, see instruction B. If your VCR is connected to your home stereo, see HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO on page 16.
18 T o use iFIT .com CDs or videocassettes, the exercise cycle must be connected to your portable CD player , porta ble stereo, home stereo, computer with CD play- er , or VCR. See HOW T O CONNECT YOUR CD P LA YER, VCR, OR COMPUTER on pag es 15 to 17.
19 HOW TO USE PROGRAMS DIRECTL Y FROM OUR WEB SITE Our Web site at www .iFIT .com allows you to play iFIT .com programs directly from the internet. T o use programs from our Web site, the exercise cycle must be connected to your home computer . See HOW T O CONNECT YOUR COMPUTER on page 16.
20 I nspect and properly tighten all parts of the exercise cycle regularly . The exercise cycle can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. T o prevent damage to the console, keep liquids away from the console and keep t he console out of direct sunlight.
21 E XERCISE G UIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program. Remember that proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results.
