8 P olaroid Phot oMAX PDC 640 Quickstar t Guide 2. Load four AA -size batteries into the compartment. Mak e sure the + and – terminals ar e oriented correctly in the c ompart ment, or the camer a will not function. Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types.
P olaroid Phot oMAX PDC 640 Quickstar t Guide 9 Connecting the A C adapter T o conserve battery life, use the A C adapter whenever possible. The A C adapter can become warm to the touch aft er extended periods of use. This is normal and is no cause for alarm.

Note: Y ou must insert the memor y card befor e y ou can turn on the camera.
