4 Congratulations for selecting the new NordicT rack ® SL 710 exercise cycle. Cycling is one of the most effect ive exercises for increasing cardiovascular fit- ness, building endurance, and toning the entire body .
5 ASSEMBL Y Assembly requires two persons. Place all parts of the exercise cycle in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Assembly requires the included tools and your own adjustable wrench .

While another person lifts the rear of the Frame (1), attach the Rear Stabilizer (16) to the Frame with four M8 x 40mm Button Screws (54) and four M8 Split W ashers (55). 3 2 1 78 43 88 97 99 99 3. While another person holds the Upright (2) in the posi- tion shown, connect the Upper Wire Harness (97) to the Lower Wire Harness (43).

9 INST ALLING THE RECEIVER FOR THE OPTIONAL CHEST PULSE SENSOR If you purchase the optional chest pulse sensor (see page 21), follow the steps below to install the receiver inclu ded with the chest pulse sensor . Remove the access door from the underside of the Console (4).
10 HOW T O OPERA TE THE EXERCISE CYCLE HOW TO MOVE AND LEVEL THE EXERCISE CYCLE Stand in back of the exercise cycle, and lift the exer- cise cycle until it can be moved on the front wheels. Move the exercise cycle to the desired location and carefully lower it.
1 1 FEA TURES OF THE CONSOLE The advanced console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more enjoyable and effective. When the manual mode of the console is selected, the resistance of the exercise cycle can be changed with the touch of a button.
12 HOW T O USE THE MANUAL MODE Press any button on the console or begin pedaling to turn on the console. Note: The console requires four 1.5V “D” batteries (see assembly step 10 on page 8). Press any button on the console or begin pedal- ing to turn on the console.
13 Note: The console can display speed and distance in either miles or kilometers. T o find which unit of measurement is selected, you must select the console’s user mode. Hold down the Program Select button for about three seconds. The letter “E” for English miles or the letter “M” for metric kilometers will appear in the left display .
14 HOW TO USE RESIST ANCE AND P ACE PROGRAMS Press any button on the console or begin pedaling to turn on the console. See step 1 on page 12. Select one of the six resistance and pace programs. When the power is turned on, the man- ual mode will be selected.
15 T urn on the fan if desired. See step 6 on page 13. When the program is finished, the console will automatically turn off. See step 7 on page 13. HOW TO USE HEART RA TE PROGRAMS Each heart rate program helps you to keep your heart rate near a certain percentage of your maximum heart rate during your workout.

18 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO Note: If your stereo has an unused LINE OUT jack, see instruction A below . If the LINE OUT jack is being used, see instruction B. A. Plug one end of the audio cable into the jack beneath the console. Plug the other end of the cable into the adapter .
19 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR VCR Note: If your VCR has an unused AUDIO OUT jack, see instruction A below . If the AUDIO OUT jack is being used, see instruction B. If you have a TV with a built-in VCR, see instruction B. If your VCR is connected to your home stereo, see HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO on page 18.

21 HOW TO USE PROGRAMS DIRECTL Y FROM OUR WEB SITE Our Web site at www .iFIT .com allows you to play iFIT .com audio and video programs directly from the internet. T o use programs from our Web site, the exer- cise cycle must be connected to your home computer .
22 Inspect and properly tighten all parts of the exercise cycle regularly . T o clean the exercise cycle, use a soft, damp cloth. Keep liquids away from the console and keep the console out of direct sunlight. HOW TO ADJUST THE REED SWITCH If the console does not display correct feedback, the reed switch should be adjusted.
23 The following guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program. Remember that proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results. EXERCISE INTENSITY Whether your goal is to burn fat or to strengthen your cardiovascular system, the key to achieving the desired results is to exercise with the proper intensity .
24 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1.
