10 Cha rging the Batter y The bat tery is not c har ged at sh ipmen t. Charge the ba t tery before use . 1 Place the battery in the supplied b atter y charger . Insert the batter y in the orienta tion indicat - ed by the DFC labels. The c amera uses an NP-50 recharge able bat ter y .
Fir st St ep s 11 Inserting the Batter y and a Memor y Card Although the camera ca n store pictures i n intern al memor y , optional SD , SDHC, and S DX C memory cards (sold separat ely) can be used t o s tor e additional pictures. After cha rging the battery , insert the battery and memor y card as described below .

T o reactivate the camera af ter it has turned of f automatically , rotate the zoom ring to OFF and then turn the camer a on.
