3 [ Cleaning Unplug the set from the wall outlet befor e cleaning or polishing it . Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaner s. Use a cl oth lightly dampened with water for cl eaning the e xterior of the set.

8 Notes on using the camera [ Int ernal memory and “ Memory Stick Duo” back up Do not turn off the camera , remove the battery pack, or remove the “Memory Stick Duo” while the access lamp is lit. Otherwise, the internal memo ry d ata or “ Mem or y Stick Duo” may be damaged.

10 1 Preparing the bat tery pack 1 Insert the battery pack into th e battery charge r. 2 Connect the battery charger to the wall outlet (wall socket). The CHARGE lamp lights up, and charging starts. When the CHARGE lamp turns off, charging is finished (Normal charge).

16 [ W/T Using the zoom Press T to zoom, p ress W to und o zoom . [ Fl ash (Se lect ing a fl ash mod e for still images ) Press B ( ) on the cont rol button rep eatedly until the desired mode is selected.
17 Shooting in Smi le Shutter mode Whe n the ca mera d etect s a smil e, the shutte r is re lease d autom atica lly. 1 Select (Smil e Shutt er) mod e from the mode dial. 2 Aim the camera at the subject and press the shutter b utton halfway down to focus.
18 Viewi ng/de letin g imag es 1 Press (Playback). If you press when the ca mera is powered off, the camera is turned on automatically and set to playback mode. To switch to the shooting mode, press again. 2 Select an image with b / B on the contro l button.
19 [ To v iew an inde x sc reen Press (Index) to displa y the index screen while a still image is displayed. Then, selec t an image with v / V / b / B . To return to the single i mage screen, press z . • You can also access th e index screen by selecting [ Image Index] in (View Images) on the HOME screen.
20 [ To view images on TV Connect the ca mera to t he TV with the cable f or mult i-use terminal (suppli ed). To vi ew on H D (H igh Defini tion) TV, an HD Output A daptor Cable (not supplied) is neede d. • If you set the image s ize to [16:9], you can r ecord images in the size that fills the entire screen of the HD TV.
21 Learn ing the var ious fu nctio ns – HOME/M enu Using the HOME screen The HO ME screen is th e gateway sc reen for al l the functions o f the came ra, and can b e called up rega rdless of the mod e setting ( shooting/vie wing). 1 Press HOME to display the HOME screen.
