Operating Instructions 10 Contr ol panel Pr ogramme selector The progr amme selector is used to select the type of wash cycle (for example, water level, drum movement, number of rinses, spin speed) and the water temperatur e accor ding to type of washing.
Operating Instructions 11 STARCHING Separate star ching, separate conditioning, separate tr eatment of damp clothes (1 rinse, liquid conditioner is washed in from the æ compart- ment, spin). This can also be selected if a separa te rinse is necessary .
Operating Instructions 12 EASY IRON Wash pr ogr amme at 40 °C for easy-care items which, after this pr o- gramme, ar e to be ironed only lightly or not at all. 2 ENERGY SAVING Special energy and water saving pr ogramme at about 60 °C, for lightly to normally soiled Cottons/Colour eds (cotton/linen), with extended wash time.
Operating Instructions 13 TIME SAVER Reduced wash progr amme for lightly soiled washing, cons isting of 3 stages with the COTT ONS/LINEN, EASY -CARES progr amme, and two stages with the other progr ammes.
Operating Instructions 14 Consumption values and pr ogr amme times The following table gives the values for selected programmes under normal conditions. The energy and water consumed depend on the se- lected progr amme settings (additional functions), as well as external conditions such as wate r temperatur e or type of detergent.
Operating Instructions 15 What does "UPDA TE" mean? The contr ol system of your washin g machine is fully electr onic. The software which determines this co ntrol system can be repr ogrammed. If a further improvement to washing technology is introduced by AEG, then your machine can be updated.
Operating Instructions 16 Befor e the first wash 0 Run a washing programme without la undry (selecting CO TT ONS/LINEN, EASY -CARES 95, with half the normal amount of deter gent). This removes any residues fr om the drum which may have been left during manufacturing.
Operating Instructions 17 T ypes of washing and care symbols Care symbols help you to choose the correct wash pr ogramme. Washing should be sorted by type and accor ding to care symbols. The temperatur es indicated on the ca re symbols ar e the maximum wash temperatur es.

Operating Instructions 19 Running a washing cycle Brief instructions A washing cycle consists of the following steps: 0 1. Set the appropriate washing pr ogramme: – Set the progr amme and temperatur e using the progr amme selector – Select any progr amme options if re quired 2.

Operating Instructions 21 Selecting Spin Speed /Rinse Hold 0 Selecting the Spin Speed for the final rinse (if necessary): Keep pr essing the Spin Speed button, until the desired speed appear s on the display . • P ossible speeds are 1800, 1400, 1200, 1 000, 800, 600 or 400 r evolu- tions per minute.
Operating Instructions 22 Setting the Delay Ti mer/Soaking time Delay Timer The DELA Y TIMER button lets you delay the start of a wash programme for up to 19 hours. 0 1. Select a wash progr amme. 2. Press the DELA Y TIMER button. 3. Press the ST ART/P AUSE button.

The door springs open. 0 To close: push the door firmly shut When the machine is switch ed on, the DOOR/LIGHT dis- play shows whether the door can be opened: 3 The drum is illuminated when the door is open.

Open the detergent dispenser additives drawer : pr ess the flap so as to be able to grasp the handle (1), and pull out the drawer (2).
Operating Instructions 25 3 If using liquid detergents/tablets: Add liquid detergent or tablets in the quantity r ecommended by the washing detergent manufactur er . Add liquid detergent with the dosage container provided by the deter gent manufacturer .
Operating Instructions 26 W ash progr amme pr ogress Progr amme Progress Display Prior to the start, the progr amme steps chosen are dis- played by the progr amme progr ess display . During the wash progr amme the current pr ogramme step is dis- played.
Operating Instructions 27 Stopping the programme 0 To stop the washing machine before the pr ogramme has ended, turn the progr amme selector to OFF . 3 The wash progr amme can be temporarily interrupted at any time by pressing the ST ART / PAUSE button.

Leave the door slightly open to air the inside of the wash- ing machine. 3 If the OVER DOSING i ndicator illumina tes, then too mu ch detergent was used in the washing pr ogramme just com- pleted.

Operating Instructions 33 What to do if... T rouble Shooting If the appliance is not working correc tly , please carry out the following checks befor e contacting your local Service Force Centr e.
Operating Instructions 34 The washing machine vibrates when operat- ing or is noisy . The transi t packaging has not been re moved. Remove the transit p ackag- ing as described in the In- stallation and Connect ion instructions. The machine is not level.
Operating Instructions 35 The dr ain pump runs constantly , even when the machine is switched off. The Aqua Control anti-flood system has been activated . Close the water tap, r emove the mains plug and inform your local Service Force Cen- tre. Fabric softener was not rinsed in, the æ compartment is filled with water .
Operating Instructions 36 Remnants of deter gent are building up in the deter gent drawer . The water tap is not fully opened. T urn the water tap on fully . The inlet hose filter in the coupling of the inlet ho se at the tap is blocked. Close the water ta p.
Operating Instructions 37 If the washing r esults are not satisfactory If the washing turns greyish and limescale deposits are pr esent in the drum • Insufficient detergent has been added. • Incorrect deter gent was used. • Stains were not pr e-treated.
Operating Instructions 38 Carrying out an emer gency emptying • If the washing machine no longer pumps out the water , emergency emptying must be carried out. • If the washing machine is located in a room in which below fr eezing temperatur es might occur , emergenc y emptying must be carried out.
Operating Instructions 39 When the water is completely drained: 6. Push the plug secur ely into the em ergency emptying hose and turn it clockwise to secure it.
Operating Instructions 40 3. Unscr ew the dr ain pump cove r in an anti-clockwise direction and pull it out. 4. Remove any foreign objects and fabric lint from the pump housing. 5. Replace the pump cover . Laterally insert the webs on the cover into the guide slots and screw on the cover in a clock- wise direction.
Operating Instructions 41 Additional rinse cycle (RINSE+) The washing machine is set for very economical water consumption. However , for people who suffer fr om allergies to deter gents, it can be helpful to rinse with extra water .
Operating Instructions 42 W ater cooling It may be necessary to cool the water before dr aining, to prevent ther- mal damage to the plastic outlet pipes.
Operating Instructions 43 Additional rinse cycl e and water cooling Y ou can combine the additional rinse and water cooling functions. Set the two functions as described under "Additional rinse cycle" and "Water cooling". V ariomatic spin The variomatic spin is integrated into the final spin.
Operating Instructions 44 Pr ogr amme Protection To pr otect a progr amme setting agai nst unintent ional changes or tam- pering (for example, progr amme selector turned or buttons pressed ac- cidentally , etc.), set the Progr amme Protection. This will pr otect your washing from damage.
