17 Positioning your projector English Installation for a 4:3 ratio screen 4:3 (standard) ratio screen dimension table There is 3% tolerance among t hese numbers in the above two tables due to optical compon ent variations.
18 Positioning your projector English Shifting the projection lens The lens shift lever at the fr ont side of the projector p rovides flexibili ty for installing your projector . It allows the projector to be positioned off axis from screen center . The lens shift (offset) is expressed as a percentage of the pr ojected image height or w idth.
19 Connection English Conn ec ti on Y o u can con nect the projector to an y ty pe of video equipment, such as a V CR, DVD pla yer , digital tuner , cable or satellite dec oder , v ideo game console or digital camera. Y ou can also connect it to a desktop or laptop PC or Apple M acintosh system.

21 Connection English The final co nnection path should be like that shown in the following diagram: • It is not recommended to establish the connectio n via a DVI to HDMI cable. The weight of the DVI to HDMI adapter may be pulling down on the HDMI port, causing it to becom e loose over time.

23 Using the projector English U sing the project or Star t up 1. Plug the power co rd into the projec tor and int o a wall socket. T urn on the wall socket switch (where fitted). Check that the P ower indicator on the projector lights orange after power has been applied.
24 Using the projector English U tilizing the passwor d function For security purposes and to help prevent unauthorized use, the pr ojector includes an option for setting up password security . The passw ord can be set through the On-Screen Displa y (OSD) menu.
25 Using the projector English Changing the passwor d 1. Open the OSD menu and go to the Adv a nc ed S et up > Pass wo rd menu. P ress ENTER . 2. Highlight Change Passwor d . Press ENTER . 3. The message 'INPUT CURRENT P ASSW ORD' displays.
26 Using the projector English Speeding up the proc ess of sourc e search Y o u can speed up the process of sourc e se arch by blocking source(s) not in use. 1. Go to the Ad vanced Setup > Sour ce Block menu and press ENTER . 2. Highlight the input source with c Up or d Down .

Go to the Displa y > K eystone me nu and high ligh t Pincushion Correction . 2. Press e Left or f Right repeatedly to adjust the image until y ou are satisfied with the shape.
29 Using the projector English Setting the U ser 1/U ser 2/U ser 3 modes There ar e three user -definable modes if the current a vailable picture modes are not suitable f or your need. Y ou can use one of the picture modes (ex cept the U ser 1/2/3) as a starting point and customize the settings.
30 Using the projector English In the pictures below, the black portions are inactive areas and t he white portions are active areas. The Anamorphic set ting stretches and resizes linearly , except that it treats the v ertical and horizontal di mensions independently .

These settings d o not affect the projection settings, operat ion, or performance. • Language in the Sys tem Se tup menu sets your familiar language for the on-scr een menus.

37 Menus English Picture--Basic menu The Picture--Basic menu allows y ou to adjust the finer details of the projected image quality . Before making adjustments, you are suggested to choo se a desired pictur e mode in this men u which has set some certain values in orde r to meet different lighting envir onment and presentation purposes.

44 Maintenance English Lamp Info rmation Calculation of lamp hour Wh en the projector is in operation, the duration (in hour s) of lamp usage is automatically calculated by the built-in timer .
45 Maintenance English R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, always turn th e projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the project or to co ol for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.

47 Maintenance English T emperature information Wh en the T emperature warning light is on, it is warning you of the following possible pr oblems: 1. The internal temperature is too high. 2. The fans are not w orking. T urn the projector off and contact qualified service pers onnel for further help.
