4 Helpful Hints With the so-called “On Screen Display” the operation of the r e- ceiver is simplified, and the number of remote contr ol keys mini- mised. All functions are displayed on the scr een and can be con- trolled by means of a few buttons.

6 Operation of TRIAX SR50/SR55 via RC65 The standard r emote control for TRIAX DVB65S is RC65. This RC65 has the option to operate the analogue receivers TRIAX SR50 and SR55. The factory programming of RC65 is to be a sin- gle mode RC for DVB63S/65S only , ie the button SA T2 has no function.
7 Connection to a TV set By means of a SCART cable: T o have the best possible picture quality you should connect r e- ceiver and tv by means of a SCART cable. Procedur e: g Connect receiver (SCAR T -socket tv) and tv (SCART -socket) by means of a SCAR T -cable.
8 Setting of the UHF-output channel Follow this procedur e: Call up the main menu by means of the menu button . Main menu > Settings Now select the menu line Settings , by marking the corre- sponding line by means of the cursor . Confirm with OK . This produces the sub-menu Settings .
9 receiver , and the receiver now transmits on the channel shown. If interference-fr ee reception is still not possible on this channel, you must repeat the pr ocdure until a suitable chan- nel is found. When an optimum UHF-channel has been found, be sure to store this on your tv .
10 Serial port RS 232 The RS 232-port is used to update the software and pr e- programming via PC. USB The Universal Serial Bus connector is intended for high-speed data transfer , for example between the receiver and a PC.
11 Settings When you have connected your new receiver and put it into service, you can optimise the receiver to your own needs. OSD-language Under this menu you can set the menu language according to your own choice to the languages German, English, French, Italian, T urkish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, Swed- ish and Spanish.
12 SETTINGS Store by pr essing OK . The back-button takes you back to the main menu . Basic setting In order to optimise the DVB-r eceiver you can set it to your own needs. Call up the main menu by pressing menu . Mark the line settings by means of the cursor .
13 SETTINGS Settings > Basis Parental lock: Y our receiver is pr ovided with a parental lock. Programs locked (see page 25) can thus only be set after entering a 4-digit PIN- No. On this line you can set or cancel the parental lock by means of the OK-button .
14 SETTINGS Settings > Basis UHF-output channel See page 7. SCART -mode: In this line set by means of the OK-button in ac- cordance with your tv FBAS, RGB or S - VHS . For standard-tv you let the setting RGB r emain. Subtitling: In this line set by means of the OK-button you can select subtitle on or off.
15 > Settings > LNB The following settings can be made in this sub-menu: DiSEqC on/off DiSEqC (see Chapter T echnical T erms) is used for the control of major aerial systems. On this line the DiSEqC is switched on/off by means of the OK-button .
16 > Settings > LNB Now edit the menu > Settings > LNB until the indications of this menu correspond the indica- tions of your receiver . Set no satellite for the switch criteria not requir ed.
17 SETTINGS T est-T ransponder The following sub-entries of this menu only have to be entered if you want to test a satellite signal from a satellite (User 1 to 17) which has been en- tered by yourself. T ransponder frequency: Enter in this line by means of the numeric keys a frequency at which digital pr ograms are being transmitted.
18 SETTINGS Pr ogram search As already mentioned, your r eceiver has been pre-pr ogrammed for the reception from the satel- lites ASTRA and EUTELSA T . Y ou have several op- tions for program sear ch in order to be able to re- ceive new programs or pr ograms from other sat- ellites.
19 SETTINGS Search > Satellite Under this menu item you can make a search for a special satellite. In that case all other satellites are not being sear ched. Select the menu line satellite by marking it by means of the cursor -button . Confirm with OK .
20 SETTINGS Symbol rate: The symbol rate describes the number of data transmitted per second, e.g. 27000 (27000 sym- bols per second). Enter the corresponding symbol rate by means of the numeric keys .
21 SETTINGS Resetting factory pre-setting Delete all program memory Y ou can reset the factor y pre-set LNB-setting at any time. If the program list is out of date due to changes by the program pr oviders, you all also delete completely and then make a new search.
22 System configuration This sub-menu displays the specific data of the equipment. Mark up this line in the sub-menu Settings by means of the cursor -button.
23 SETTINGS Here all packages with corr esponding programs are listed. Alr eady existing programs ar e dis- played in white colour , just found programs in red colour . Programs which already ar e in the user’ s list are pr ovided with a red cr oss.
24 SETTINGS Sorting of pr ograms T o sort the user’ s program list to suit your needs, proceed as follows: Call up the main menu by means of the menu- button . Now mark up the line tv-programs by means of the cursor -button to sort tv-programs, or radio programs to sort radio pr ograms.
25 SETTINGS Locking of programs If you wish so, you can lock programs. A locked program will not be displayed on the scr een, until after setting the program you have enter ed your personal PIN-number .
26 SETTINGS Change of PIN The PIN-number has been factory pre-set at 0000 . T o activate the program lock you must in stead of the factory pre-setting enter your person- al PIN-number .
27 Software TRIAX A/S has the right of ownership of the soft- ware. As the owner of DVB 63S/65S you have the right to apply the software for this equipment. No kind of re-engineering or copying of the soft- ware for other purposes must be made without a written permission from TRIAX A/S.
28 OPERA TION Power ON/OFF Switch on the receiver by pr essing the ON/OFF button of the receiver or r emote control. When you again press the ON/OFF button of the receiver or r emote control, the r eceiver is switched off. The receiver is now in standby mode, and the dis- play shows the time.
29 OPERA TION By means of the program list: Press the List -button. A program list now appears. In tv-mode only tv-programs appear , and in radio- mode only radio programs. The actually set pr o- gram appears in blue colour . Now you can mark up red the pr ogram wanted by means of the cursor - button.
30 OPERA TION V olume control Y ou can contr ol the volume of your receiver . This facilitates the use of the receiver as in this way you have all important functions in your remote control and thus only seldom have to use the r e- move control of your tv .
31 OPERA TION Switch between tv/radio Besides tv-programs, the pr e-programming also includes radio programes. In this case the tv-pic- ture is not displayed, but only the name of the program. Switch-over to radio reception by means of the button tv/radio .
32 OPERA TION V ideo text If transmitted, the video text is displayed on your tv . Use the remote control of your tv to operate video text. In case of disturbances on your tv , like e.g. interference of video text and pictur e, you must set your receiver to CVBS-operation.
33 OPERA TION survey of the program of today on the dif ferent channels too. Press ”gr een” to recall this survey . Booking by means of EPG In all EPG menu’ s, you can book any program shown just by means of moving the cursor to the program and pr essing ”OK”.
