5 IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Your safety is of the utmost importance to Baumatic. Please make sure that you read this instruction booklet before attempting to install or use the appliance. 7 Warning and safety instructions o This appliance complies with all current European safety legislation. Baumatic do wish to emphasise that this compliance does not remove the fact that the appliance surfaces will become hot during use and re tain heat after operation.
o Do not heat cooking oil or liquid cont aining alcohol, as there is the chance of spon taneous combustion. o Do not boil eggs or similar foods in their shells, otherwise they may burst. It is possible to poach eggs in your microwave, providing you prick the yolks first.

LED display o The LED display will show the time of day, or if the microwave is in use, it will show the cooking time. Indicates that microwave cooking is taking place. Indicates that defrosting is taking place. Indicates that a high power level is selected.
14 Using your microwave Setting the clock o When your appliance is connect ed to the power supply for the first time, the LED display (A) will show 0.00 and an audible signal will sound once. o Press the Clock/Pre-set time button (J) , the hour digits will flash.
15 Cooking food o Once the clock has been set, yo ur microwave is then ready to use. o Use the door button (F) to open the door of the microwave. o Check that the turntable shaft, tu rntable ring assembly and glass tray are correctly assembled in the cavity.
16 Quick start o If you want to cook on the hi ghest power level setting for a period of time, then you can use the Quick Start/Start button (C) . o Press the Quick Start/Start button (C) once and your microwave will operate on full power for 1 minute.
17 Cancelling a cooking cycle o If you wish to cancel a cooking cy cle when it is in progress, you should press the Cancel/Stop button (E) . o The microwave will stop heating immediately, give an audible signal and the LED display (A) will return to showing the time of day.
18 Defrost by weight o Press the defrost by weight button (K) and the LED display (A) will show “dEF1”. o Turn the adjustment dial (G) to select the weight of the food that you want to defrost. The letter “g” will appear on the LED display (A) to indicate grams.
Setting a cooking time in advance o This function will allow you to se t a time in the future that the microwave will switch on at. o IMPORTANT: You must make sure that the clock is set to the correct time before using this feature. o Press the microwave button (D) and then use the adjustment dial (G) to set the power level that you require.
Auto menu function o Your microwave has menus pre-programmed into it, where it will cook particular types of food on pre-set power levels and for pre- set periods of time. o Press the auto menu button (I) to access the auto menu function, the LED display (A) will show “A-1”.
21 Safety lock o When the microwave is not heating, it is possible to switch on the safety lock. o Press and hold down the Cancel/Stop button (E) for 3 seconds. o The microwave will emit a long audible signal and the LED display (A) will display a padlock symbol.
22 o You should not use ceramic or porcelain crockery, or porous earthenware inside of your mi crowave. These dishes could absorb moisture from the food whilst it is cooking, which could cause pressure to build up and shatter the dish. o If you are heating certain food s and any liquid, moisture will evaporate and condensation may o ccur.
Plastic Microwave-safe only . Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. It should be labelled as “microwave safe”. Some plastic containers soften as the food inside gets hot. “Boiling bags” and tigh tly closed plastic bags should be slit, pierced or vented, as described by the package.
24 The appliance interior o You should wipe over the inside of the appliance with a soft cloth and warm water mixed with a little washing up liquid. o You should pay particular attention to the door seal and the surrounding area. o DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or sharp objects to clean the inside of the microwave.
Installation The installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified person, in acco rdance with the current version of the following. o UK Regulations and Safety Stan dards or their European Norm Replacements. o Building Regulations (issued by the Department of the Environment).
o The wiring in the mains lead is coloured as follows: Brown Live B l u e Neutral Green and yellow Earth o As the colours of the wires in the appliance’s mains lead may not correspond with the colou.
Aperture and ventilation requirements o The diagram above shows the aperture and ventilation requirements that you require to build the appliance into a housing unit. o Ensure that the rear panel of the furniture housing unit has been removed. o This oven may be installed without any additional ventilation cut outs being made in the housing unit.
Built under installation requ irements IMPORTANT: NO OTHER METHODS OF BUILDING UNDER THE MICROWAVE ARE SANCTIONED BY BAUMATIC. o The rear wall of the housing uni t MUST be removed to allow there to be the correct amount of ventilation. o The ventilation gaps below the support shelf and below the worktop MUST be adhered to.
o WARNING: The microwave will get hot during operation; care should be taken not to a ccidentally co me into contact with the outer surface. o WARNING: Children should no t be allowed near to the appliance unsupervised.
o Fit adjustment screw A into th e adjustment screw-hole on the top of the microwave. Adjustment screw A should not be fully tightened at this stage. o Use screw B (x 4) to fix the frame to the microwave. These screws must be fully tightened. o Ensure that the gap between the microwave and the frame is the same on the top and bottom.
o Place the microwave and frame kit into the housing unit. o IMPORTANT: Do not push the microw ave and frame kit fully into the housing unit, as you st ill need to be able to access adjustment screw A at this stage of the installation.
o Use the frame kit plastic cover and place it over screw-hole C. Troubleshooting o The microwave will not switch on. * Check that the appliance has been connected to the mains supply correctly. * Check that the fuse in the moulded plug has not blown.
33 o The microwave does not switch off. * Isolate the microwave from your mains supply and then contact the Baumatic Service Department. o The interior light bu lb is not working. * Call the Baumatic Service Departme nt. The interior light bulb can only be replaced by a trained service technician.
IMPORTANT: If your appliance appears not to be operating correctly, then yo u should disconnect it from your mains supply and then contact the Baumatic Service Department on telephone number (0118) 933 6911. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE APPLIANCE YOURSELF.
