Before connecting and using the unit, please take time to read this manual thoroughly to ensure you understand ho w to properly set up and connect the unit, as well as the operation of its many useful and c onvenient functions.

Keep the package materials for transportation in the future. Pleas e con tact the stor e where y ou purcha sed this unit if any of these items ar e missing or have been damaged during transportation.
T ASCAM US-200 7 Cautions on installa tion The unit’ s nominal operating temperature • is between 5˚ and 35° C (41° – 95° F). Do not install in the following types of • places. Doing so could degr ade the sound quality and/or cause malfunctions.
8 T ASCAM US-200 2 − Names and F unc tions of Par ts F ront panel 1 +48V indic ator This lights when the PHANT OM (+48V ) switch is set to ON. CAUTION Do not connect or disconnect microphones when this indicator is lit. 2 USB indic ator This lights when the USB connection is active.
T ASCAM US-200 9 8 LE VEL knob Use this to adjust the level output fr om the LINE OUT 1/2 jacks and the PHONES jack. T his does not adjust the level output from the LINE OUT 3/4 jacks. CAUTION Before connecting headphones, turn the LEVEL knob to minimize the volume.
10 T ASCAM US-200 Rear panel q LINE OUT 1/2/3/4 (unbalanced) jacks These RCA pin jacks are unbalanced analog line outputs. These jacks can output signals sent from the computer via USB , signals from the built-in monitoring mix er or a combination of both.
T ASCAM US-200 11 y USB p ort Use the included USB cable to connect this unit to a USB 2.0-compatible computer . NOTE The US-200 obtains power fr om the host • computer via the USB cable. In rar e cases, a computer’ s USB por t may not be able to supply enough power to oper ate the US- 200.

T ASCAM US-200 15 ROM. The T ASCAM_US200_1.00.mpkg " is created on the desktop . 3 Dboule -click the T ASCAM_US200_1.00. mpkg on the desktop to launch the installer . 4 Follo w the instructions on the screen to conduct the installation. 5 Restart the computer and then connect the unit.
16 T ASCAM US-200 Open the supplied driver CD-ROM using Window s Explorer , and double -click the Autorun2.exe file t o manually open the installation menu. F ollow the procedur es in “Installing the driver and control panel f or Windo ws” on page 13 to install the driver .
T ASCAM US-200 17 4 – US -200 c ontr ol panel settings Overview The Contr ol P anel lets you make various settings for the US-200’ s func tionality . On Windo ws, the US-200 Contr ol P anel shortcut can be found in the Window s Start menu > Control P anel or the Star t menu > All Pr ograms > T ASCAM .
18 T ASCAM US-200 LINE OUTPUTS 1/2 and LINE OUTPUTS 3/4 The computer can send 4 signal channels by USB to this unit. Use this setting t o select which signals are output from the unit’ s LINE OUT 1/2 and LINE OUT 3/4 jacks. Y ou can select ch1+2 or ch3+4 for each output pair .

T ASCAM US-200 21 Guitars Connect a guitar or bass guitar to the MIC/ LINE/INST IN 1 standard TRS jack on th e front panel, and set the INST/LINE switch on the rear panel to INST . When the INST/LINE switch is set to INST , the indicator on the front panel ligh ts.
