19 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see L OCKING THE SCREEN 1. T o lock the screen and disable settings , click the right mouse button on the Liv e Display screen. 2. Click the Key L ock icon. 3. Enter your passw ord (the default passw ord is ‘1234’) and selec t OK.
20 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see Continuous Record Mode is the simplest of r ecording modes . When you power on the D VR, rec ording will start automatically and the DVR will continue r ecording un til you choose t o stop it. The beside each camera title indicates tha t the camera is in continuous r ecor ding mode.
21 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see ADVANCED SEARCH The adv anced search mode displa ys a calendar , allowing you to easily sear ch by either time or ev ent for specic days or periods of time . Once the desired footage is found , it can easily be play ed back and review ed.
22 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 4. T o move t o a specic time period, click and drag the arr ow along the timeline t o the specic time period you ar e looking for . As you drag the arro w you will see the time indicat or (next to the play button) change acc ordingly .
23 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see MAIN MENU This section will outline all the settings within each of the system menus . W ith these menus you can customiz e the DVR to meet y our viewing needs. The three main menus ar e GENERAL, RECORD , and ARCHIVING.
24 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see DISPLA Y MENU W ithin the DISPLA Y menu are the following submenus: OSD , MONITOR, and SCREENSAVER . The OSD ( Onscreen Display) menu allows y ou to contr ol general screen settings such as camer a titles and transparencies .

26 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see MAKING CHANGES T O THE SCREEN SA VER MENU: 1. After sa ving any desir ed changes to other menus, click the SCREEN SA VER title on the left hand side of the window . 2. T o navigat e through the SCREEN SA VER menu, use the mouse to click the sta tus (OFF , ON, etc) of the setting you wish to change.
27 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see CAMERA MENU The camera menu allo ws you to mak e changes to the following: CAMERA TITLE, C OL OR SETUP , PTZ SETUP , and MOTION SENSOR. The CAMERA TITLE menu allows y ou to personalize the on-scr een title of each camera as well as whether the camera will be displa yed in cov er t mode.
28 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see COVERT : C ov er t mode can be turned ON or OFF for each camera. C overt cameras will recor d accor ding to the camera ’ s specic schedule, but its monitoring ar ea will NOT be displa yed onscr een (a blue screen will appear in its plac e).
29 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 8. Under COL OR, click the buttons to adjust the brightness betw een 1 and 100 (the default is 50). 9. When you ha ve c ompleted changing settings for that particular camera, you can use the buttons to select another camera channel.
30 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see CONFIGURING THE PTZ MENU OPTIONS 1. T o get to the PTZ Menu, acc ess the GENERAL menu by clicking the right mouse button on the Live Display scr een. 2. Click the SETUP icon. 3. Enter y our passwor d (the default passwor d is ‘1234’) and select OK .

33 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see ADJUSTING AREA SETUP 1. Click the AREA SETUP button of the camera you wish t o change. 2. The camera will be displa yed full scr een and will be orange in color with a light blue grid cov ering the entire fr ame.
34 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 6. Con tinue to click and drag until all desir ed areas ar e within blue areas on the grid . 7. T o exit this screen, righ t click the mouse anywhere on the screen. A menu will pop up with the options SELECT ALL, DELETE ALL, CANCEL, and SA VE & EXIT .
35 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see SOUND MENU The Sound menu contains the A UDIO and BUZZER submenus. This menu allows you to mak e changes to audio settings on the microphone as w ell as turn the beeping sounds of the monitor and r emote ON or OFF .
36 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see NETWORK AUDIO TX: T urning this option ON enables net work audio tr ansmission and sends live and playback audio t o a connected remot e PC.
37 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see SYSTEM MENU The SYSTEM menu is wher e you mak e advanc ed changes to the accessibility of the DVR. The submenus within the SYSTEM menu are D A TE/ TIME , NETWORK , MAIL , USER MANAGEMENT , SYSTEM MANAGEMENT , and C ONTROL DEVICE .
38 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see DA TE/TIME: Allows y ou to manually set the dat e and time. Click the number which y ou wish to change. Y ou will see it become outlined in green. T hen, click the arro ws to change the year , month, da y , hour or minut e to the desired time .
39 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see MAKING CHANGES T O THE MAIL MENU NOTE: The settings in this menu r elat e directly to setting up the DVR t o connect to a network for r emote and online viewing . If the DVR is not corr ectly set up to the network, the settings in this menu may be inaccura te or incomplet e.
40 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see ADDING A NEW USER 1. After sa ving any desir ed changes to other menus, click the USER MANA GEMENT title on the left hand side of the window . T he window will display the list of users . 2. T o add a new user , click the ADD button at the bottom of the scr een.
41 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 14. Press OK t o return t o the USER MANA GEMENT screen. An y new users will show up in the USER ID list. 15. When you ha ve made all the desir ed changes to the USER MANA GEMENT menu , click APPL Y . If you wish t o exit without saving changes , click in the top right corner of the windo w .
42 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 5. Enter a passw ord b y clicking each letter individually . The title can be up to 8 char acters and can include both numbers and letters. When you hav e nished selecting your passwor d, click to exit the onscreen k eyboard .
43 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see DELETING USERS 1. Double click the user which you wish to delet e. 2. The EDIT Screen will pop up . 3. Click DELETE at the bottom of the EDIT windo w . 4. The user is now delet ed. NOTE: Users can not be r estor ed once they are delet ed.
44 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see UPDA TING THE SYSTEM MANAGEMENT MENU 1. After sa ving any desir ed changes to other menus, click the SYSTEM MANA GEMENT title on the left hand side of the window . The window will displa y a list of settings .

46 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 6. The rm ware will be sa ved t o the DVR and a status bar will let you kno w the progr ess. 7. When the rmw are is complet ely installed, y ou will be asked t o restart the system. Press OK. After r estarting, the new changes will take eect.
47 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see SA VING THE SYSTEM D A T A 1. Inser t your USB driv e into the USB port on the side of the DVR . 2. Press the SA VE button next to SY STEM DA T A. 3. A W indow tha t says “Success ” will pop up when the settings hav e completed transferring .
48 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see NOTE: Each of the settings within the C ONTROL DEVICE menu are described in detail below . SYSTEM ID: Must be dieren t from an y other DVRs being accessed b y the remot e. Y ou c an choose between 1-254 for an ID .
49 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see SMART ALARM: Can be turned ON or OFF . T his featur e sets the DVR to monit or the hard driv e to detect any pr oblems or errors that migh t be developing . If the DVR det ects an error , it will sound an alarm.
50 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 3. The OPERA TION option allows y ou to enable or disable the alarm out setting . Use the buttons to enable or disable this featur e. If enabled , you will be able t o edit settings for up to 4 alarms. If disabled , alarms will not function if there is an even t.
51 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 1. After sa ving any desir ed changes to other menus, click the E-MAIL NO TIFIC A TION title on the left hand side of the window . 2. The NO TIFICA TION option allows y ou to enable or disable email notications.
52 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see DISK MANAGE MENU The Disk Manage menu allows y ou to set a RECORD[ING] TIME LIMIT , T urn the OVERWRITE option ON or OFF , and FORMA T the DVR’ s hard drive. MAKING CHANGES T O THE DISK MANA GE MENU 1. Click the DISK MANA GE button.
53 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see RECORD TIME LIMIT: In ac cordanc e with cer tain local or organiza tional requir ements and data pr otection laws, it ma y be necessary to limit the amount of footage being stor ed on the DVR.
54 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 2. A warning message stating tha t all rec orded data will be erased. C hoose OK. 3. A progr ess window will pop up to sho w you the status of the forma t. 4. Once f ormatt ing is c omplet e, t he windo w will disappe ar and y ou wi ll r eturn t o the DI SK MANA GE scr een.
55 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see RECORD MENU The REC ORD menu is the area t o make changes to r ecording schedules and activation options . The submenus within the REC ORD menu are RECORDING OPERA TIONS , TIMER/MOTION SETUP , and ALARM SETUP .
56 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see MAKING CHANGES T O THE REC ORDING OPERA TIONS MENU 1. Click the RECORDING OPERA TIONS title on the left hand side of the window . 2. T o navigat e through the REC ORDING OPERA TIONS menu, use the mouse to click the status ( OFF , ON, etc) of the setting you wish to change.
57 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see MAKING CHANGES T O THE TIMER/MOTION SETUP MENU The TIMER/MOTION menu is separa ted into two basic sections: SIZE/FPS/QUALITY/AUDIO , and ACTIV A TION.
58 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 4. Use the mouse to click the rst block of the time period you wish t o set on the Time Selec tion bar . The time selection bar is display ed as a 24 hour clock, with the rst block (0) repr esenting 12 – 1 AM and the last block (23) repr esenting 11 PM – 12AM .
59 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see NOTE: This D VR can recor d up to 120 Fr ames P er Second (FPS), which is spread out among all 4 channels .
60 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 5. Hold down the mouse and drag along the screen t o the last block of the time period you wish t o set. The outline around the blocks will be yellow . Ev er ything within this yellow bor der will hav e the same setting .

63 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 5. Use the arro ws to select the date and time in the FROM and T O elds . All video footage within the star t and end period will be written to the e xternal device.
64 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 14. O nce extracted, the footage is copied t o CD or USB. NOTE: Depending on the amount of footage selected for archiving , the e xtrac ting and burning process ma y take sev eral minutes t o complete . During this time, the DVR cannot be used.

67 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see PREP ARING Y OUR C OMPUTER Before setting up y our network connection, you hav e to ensur e that your c omputer’ s security settings are congur ed to allow y ou to view the footage from the D VR. NOTE: Y ou will need to c omplete the steps belo w for EVERY comput er you wish to view the D VR from.
68 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see INST ALLING THE REMOTE VIEWER SOFT WARE ON YOUR PC 1. Place the CD that w as included with the DVR system in to your computer’ s CD-ROM drive . If your comput er does not automatically star t the install process or open the CD f older , go to Star t>My Comput er and double click the CD-ROM icon.
69 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 5. The nal install scr een will conrm that installa tion was successful . Click ‘Close ’ . For V ista users: If you ar e pr ompted with the “ an unidentied progr am wants t o acc ess your c omputer” security message, click ALL OW .
70 CLEARVU9 SV A T ELECTRONICS now you can see 1 CHANNEL SELECTION BUT T ONS These butt ons work in the same wa y as the DVR’ s button panel in Live Display Mode . When in full scr een mode, y ou can click each number to see that camera in full scr een.

With some D-LINK rout ers the por t for war ding screen is locat ed within the Applications & Games or Filt ers tab; in others it is located in the A dvanced T ools tab.
