11 2. In itial Boot up Process 2-1. Initial Boot up and Basic Time Set up 1. During the first boo t up, the follow ing logo and message wi ll be displayed. 2. After the system initializing is completed, select the language and set date an d time as speci fied below .

19 4. Se tting up the DVR The follow ing sections det ail the initial setup of the DVR . M enu screen will close if user input is not receiv ed in 5 minutes . 4-1. Setup – Main Live Sc reen T o enter t he setup menu, ri ght cl ick on the mouse and select setup from t he submenu or p ress the setup button on the remo te control.
20 4-2. Setup – SYSTEM Mode In the SETUP menu, select the SYSTEM tab. Then, the SYS T EM menu is display ed as pictured below . Navigate through the menu items using the mouse or the remote control and change the value of the menu item. Figure 4.2.1.
21 DA TE DISPLA Y FORMA T Select the date display format using the mouse or t he control button on the remote control. Options are : MM/DD/YYY Y , YYYY/MM/DD, DD/MM /YYYY , YYYY - MM -DD, MM- DD -YYYY.
22 PRIMAR Y SNTP SERV ER: Input the address of t he primary NTP time -server . SECONDAR Y SNTP SE R VER: Input the address of the seconda r y NTP time -server . TIME ZONE: NTP synchronizes with GMT (Greenwich Mea n T ime) regardless of geography , user must set their ow n time dif f erence.
23 ID: Enter the approp riate mail server ID. P ASSWORD: Enter the appropriate mail se rver P ASS W ORD . MAIL FROM: T o set the email address sen t to the destination host. UNIT NA ME Name the DVR (e.g. Factory) This feature is to identify the na me of the DVR under the same n etwork.
24 RESOLUT I ON Select D1, Hal f D1 or CIF using the mouse or the con t rol button on the remote control. FRAME RA TE Set the frame rate for the specified channel. The sum of the f rame rate values from each chann el cannot exceed the maximum fr ame rates for a specific recordin g resolution.

Select CHANN EL > select N O NE, CON TINUOUS or MO T ION > HIGHL IGHT AREA T o copy a schedul e t o a dif f erent channel, select the channel fr om the C OPY SCHEDULE menu.

27 SENSIT IVITY Control the motion sensi tivity from 1 to 9. (9 – Highest sensi tivity , 1 – Lowest sensitiv ity) KEY T ONE Enable/disable key t one. REMOTE CONTROL ID Set the remote con t rol ID. 1. Select ID. 2. Input the remote control ID nu mber.
28 4-4-2. Keyboard Controller & PTZ Setup T o control the PTZ functions of the camera, connect t he PTZ controller to the RS-485 port on the back of the chassis w ith CA T5 (or equiv alent) cable . ① C onnect the RS-485 cables o f PTZ camera to the RS-485 port on the rear panel.
29 Note : Connect P T Z cameras that support RS-48 5 directly to the RS -485 port. If the camera is controll ed through an RS-232C interface, use a n RS -232C to RS -485 to RS- 232C signal conver ter .
30 4-4-4. Motion Zone Setup Select MOTION ZONE using the mouse or the control button on t he remote control and select either P AR T IAL ZONE or FULL ZONE using the mouse contr ol. The default value is FULL ZONE. If FULL ZONE is selected, t he motion zone grid screen is not displayed .

37 4-8. Setup – STORA GE Mode In the SETUP menu, select the ST ORAGE tab. Then, the STORAGE menu is displayed as pictured below . Navigate through the menu items using the mou se or the control button on the remote control and change th e value o f the menu ite m .

39 4-9. Se tup - CONFIG Mode In the SETUP menu, select the CONFI G tab. Then, the configuration menu is displayed as pictured below . Navigate through the menu items using the mou se or the control button on the remote control and change the value of the menu item.

43 5. Li ve, Search and Playback 5-1. Live View In the Live screen, video inputs from the cameras are displayed as they are configured in the Display S etup screen. V arious O n-Screen Displ ay (OSD) symbols, which indicate t he status of the DVR, are desc r ibed in T able 5.
44 Indicates that a network cli ent is connected to the DVR. Indicates that se quencing mode is enabled. Displays the curren t date and t ime. RC: ALL Remote control ID display . If a remote ID is no t se t, t he m essa g e “ALL ” is display ed. Displays the amount of recording on the hard disk from 0 -99%.

49 5-3-2. Event Search The Event Search window is used to find stored v ideo. Figure 5.3.4. Ev ent Search Screen When the Event menu is selected , the user can see a calendar , which has recorded data. Select a specific date and the event log will be displayed .
50 SPECIFIC T IME menu. Use the m ouse or the control button on t he rem ote con tr ol to change the date and time value and press the PLA Y button after setting. If there is no video data in the set date and time, No Data Exist message display s. 5-3-6.
51 5-4. Play Mode During playback of a recorded event, the mode changes from S EARCH to PLA Y . W hile in PLA Y mode, you may return to the SEARCH screen by pressin g the X button on t he sta t us bar .
52 6. Back Up 6-1. Still Image Backup onto USB Flash Dri ve S till images can be captured and archiv ed onto a USB flash drive or an external hard drive in live mode or while playing back recorded vide o. In the live mode, press the BACKUP button to launch the archive function or select BACK UP menu on the screen usi ng the mouse.
53 3. Select USB S T ICK (Flash Driv e) to back up less than an hour . Select USB HDD (Huge Backup) to back up from 1 hour to 24 hou rs. 4. Once you select the channel and duration, the system will start to a rchive the data to the USB flash drive. 5.
