22 Recor ding an MD right away! This sect ion expl ains the bas ic procedure for making digi tal recordi ngs using an op tical cable connected to a CD player , Digital TV or other digital eq uipment. F or other re cording oper ations, see “V arious w ays of record ing” (page 29).

27 Listening to the radio Y ou can liste n to the r adio throu gh the b uilt-in digital tu ner in the remote cont rol. W ith the USA model, you can also list en to TV and weather br oadcasts . Y ou cannot use the recor der to recor d a radio broadcast that is being received on the remote control.
28 T o improve the broadcast reception • For FM /TV/Wb ( wea ther) : Extend the headph ones /ear phones cor d, w hich act as th e FM ant enna. • For AM: Orient the b uil t- in AM antenna inside the remote contr ol horizontal ly to obtain o ptimum AM recept ion.
