© 2008 Sil icon Imagin g, Inc P age 9 2.2 Before You Boot The Maintena nce Tool is design ed to modify only th e internal fl ash drive, but i t’s alwa ys prudent to make sure that any work you have on the SI -2K has been copied off the system prior to using the tool .
© 2008 Sil icon Imagin g, Inc P age 10 2.3 Using the Mai ntenance Tool The Maintena nce Tool interface is operated using the mouse on the side of the SI-2K (not via touchscreen). There are two types of flash media used in th e SI-2K, Transcend and X4.

© 2008 Sil icon Imagin g, Inc P age 12 2.4 Troubleshooting 2.4.1 BIO S SETTINGS IF BOO T FA ILS If the SI-2K does not boo t in to the Maint enance tool, the BIOS boot se ttin gs may need to be adjusted. 1. Connect a USB Keyboard and a moni tor to the VGA por t (do not use the SI-2K Electronic Viewfi nder) to the switched off camera.

Thi s protection keeps the file system from being corrupted during u nexpected shutdowns, such as when the bat tery runs down.

Certify that the Pro1000 NIC being u sed for SiliconDVR h as the Intel Pro1000 NIC driver software install ed and the NIC can operate as a “normal” NIC, c apabl e of rec eivi ng normal TCP/IP network traffic such as email, in ternet, file-shari ng, etc.

Go into the Network Connections dial og box by right- cli cking on Network Neighb orhood and going to “properties”.

Press “Okay” to exit the driver configu ration di alog box and th en “Okay” again to exit the “Local Area Connection” properties dia log box.

Once insid e the EbDriverTool, you should see the active NIC on the computer availabl e for instal l ing the eBUS drivers on for use with Sil iconDVR.

After uninst all in g Sil iconDV R, go back into the “Add/Remove Programs” or “Pro grams and Features” control panel and uni nstall “Cin eForm RAW Codecs”. 11.
