3.0 ATA interfa ce The ST9816A G uses the indust ry-standar d ATA interf ace. It support s both 8-bit and 16-bit data transfers . I t support s ATA programmed in- put/output (PIO) modes 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4, ATA single-word DM A modes 0, 1 and 2, and ATA multiword DMA modes 0, 1 and 2.

3.2 .3 Set F eatures c om m a nd Th i s com mand controls the im plementat ion of various f eatures t hat th e drive supports. When the drive receives th is comm and, it sets BSY, checks t he cont ents of the F eatur es regist er, clears BSY and generates an interrupt.
