3 INTR ODUCTION Section 1 The Response 4 Channel D VR provides a total video security solution for 4 channel digital sur veillance suppor ting duplex (simultaneous pla yback and record) functionality . The D VR’s front panel buttons or mouse can operate all D VR menu settings.

6 PHY SICAL UNIT Section 4 4.1 F ront P anel ● LED Lights: (a) GREEN (PWR): The D VR unit is powered up and running. (b) RED (HDD): System is recording or in playback mode .
7 – Quad Use this button for full screen displa y of all 4 video channels on the monitor screen. If you push this button, the D VR will display all 4 channels (cameras) at the same time in quad screen. – ● (REC) Press “REC” button to star t manual recording.
8 – U P/D O W N To c hange the menu field, use the up “ ” or down “ ”b uttons. – SEL Use this button to change values on main menu or sub menu setting. Also use this button to increase values when adjusting parameters. 4.2 Rear P anel ● USB POR T Use this por t to backup video on to a USB stick for transf er ring on to a PC.
9 HARDW ARE SETUP Section 5 5.1 Hard Disk Dri ve Installation Note: Only read if y ou wish to replace / upgrade the e xisting supplied 160GB hard driv e unit fitted in the DVR. 1. Unlock the front hard driv e drawer using the k ey supplied. 2. Pull the drawers le ver to remo ve the dr awer from the D VR.
10 Note: If this DVR is used with the Wireless Colour Camera CCTV Kit (CWFK1), the video output from the receiv er can be connected to either channel 1, channel 2, channel 3 or ch annel 4, to view the wireless camera. 5.4 Mouse Connection Connect the PS / 2 mouse to the por t shown on the D VR.
11 SETUP Section 6 If you ha ve just replaced the e xisting hard drive with a new hard dri ve on the system, it is advised to f or ma t the hard driv e first.
B: Set up using the Mouse After the system has booted-up , click the right mouse button and the login window will appear . Mov e the cursor to “ Account”, and click the left mouse button and input the cor rect account by mo ving the cursor ov er the correct numbers / c haracters and left clicking the mouse button to select them.
13 6.1 Camera Use this option for video colour adjustment for each channel (1, 2, 3, 4). Mov e to the “Display” option to enable or disable the screen display of each camera.
14 6.2.1 [RECORD FRAMERA TE] Change the record frame r a te for each c hannel - see Fig. 6.07. The higher the record frame rate , the more na tural mov ement you will see in playback.

16 6.3.2 [EVENT REC DURA TION] This sets the recording duration (in seconds) after motion recording is activated. Selection values are “ 0 5 , 10 , 15 , 20 , 25 , 30 ” (in seconds). 6.3.3 [MO TION DETECTION] [CHANNEL] Select the channel (1, 2, 3, 4) for recording by motion detection (Fig.
17 [MO TION AREA] Note: T o star t Motion Record, the user must complete the “Motion Area” setup . Use this option to select the range of motion detection area. Use the D VR’s front panel buttons or mouse click to assign the area. The front panel and mouse control instructions are below .
18 6.4.3 [VIDEO ADJUSTMENT] Y ou can mov e the entire video screen up , down, left and right using this option. Ke ypad assignment on the front panel is below . – CH1 for up , CH2 for down, CH3 for left, CH4 for right. Mouse function is below: Click the right mouse button and the following icons will appear: .
19 6.5.1 Hard Disk Setup [O VERWRITE ENABLED] If you select Y es, then recording continues and ov erwrites the previous recording when the hard disk driv e space is full. If you select No , then recording stops when the hard disk driv e is full. It won ’t record until “ov erwrite ena ble” is “Y es” (Fig.
20 6.5.2 Account Setup Log into the main menu (see 6. SETUP ). Mov e the cur sor down to ‘System’ and press [SEL] button or click the left mouse button to select.
21 6.5.3 Pass word Setup The default passw ord is 111111. All numbers, letters and symbols in the bo x can be used to set the passw ord (Fig. 6.22). Press [SEL ] to input values, and mo ve the prompt to the option of “Enter”, press [SEL ] to input cur rent passw ord.
22 6.5.6 Time Set Y ou can adjust the cur rent time, date and y ear at any time b y region. Set your region first and then set the cur rent time so that the video back-up da ta can be play ed without time shifting later on.
23 To playback by Ev ent list, using the [UP] / [DOWN] or channel number (CH3 for P a ge Up or CH4 for P age Down) k ey on the front panel, select the ev ent that you want to pla yback and press the [PLA Y] button.
24 PLA YB A CK WITH TIME SEAR CH FUNCTION Section 7 This is an enhanced playback option, which enables the user to manually adjust to a specific star ting time f or playback (Fig 7.01). 30 2. Still Capture. Click “ ” to capture an image from a video . Click the right mouse button to select “Options…” to setup the path for still capture. Click the left mouse button to select the folder that you want. F or e xample select the folder as “E: V OC 4CH backup”.
31 5. T ranslating the “V VF File F or ma t (*.V VF)” into “ A VI File F or mat (*.A VI)”. After translating to an A VI file, the file can then be play ed back using software such as Windows Media play er or play ed back on an MP4 player f or example .
32 6. Capture. If you w ant to sav e par t of a VVF file (*.V VF) on your computer rapidly , you must ensure any video pla yback is paused. Drag the playing scroll bar to select the star t time , click the right mouse button to select the option “Capture”, then left c lick “Mark In”.
33 TR OUBLE SHOO TING Section 11 PR OBLEM SOLUTION No picture can be viewed The power supply adaptor for the camera(s) or D VR is not plug ged in. Check all video cable connectors between the cameras and the D VR. The TV is not tuned to view the cor rect channel.
