5 1. Getting Started Functions Available over a Network This mach ine provide s printer, LAN- Fax, I nternet Fax, and scanner fu nc- tions over a ne twork. Using the Do cu- ment Server fu nction, you can combine copied documents and print jobs into a single document.
Getting Started 6 1 LAN-Fax You can f ax documents ove r phone lines from any computer connected to the machi ne via Eth ernet, I EEE 1394 (IP over 1394), or wireles s LAN. To send a fax, print from the Win- dows application yo u are working with, sel ect LAN- Fax as the prin ter, and then specify the destination.
Functions Available over a Network 7 1 Network De livery Scanner You can use the machine as a delivery scanner for th e ScanRouter d elivery software. Scan file or document received by fax can be sto red in th e d elive ry serv er, or delivered via the network to s pecified folders on client computers.

Using a Printer Server 58 3 The print server setting is com- plete. Each client must be set to re- ceive print notification. Note ❒ Current printi ng jobs restart from the beginning after the spooler pauses bri efly. ❒ When the exp ansion function is not used, the function is auto- matically set as available.
