Camer a User Guide The serial number of this product is given on the bottom face of the camera. Basic Operations If you are using the camera f or the first time, read this section. This section provides a basic overview of how to turn on the camera, take pictures and play back pictures.
Prefac e This manual provides inf ormation on how to use the shooting and playback functions of this product, as well as warnings on its use. T o make the best use of this product ’ s functions, read this manual thoroughly before use . Please keep this manual handy for ease of ref erence.

Charging the Rechar geable Battery (DB-65) DB-65 Li-ion batteries must be charged befor e use. 1 Insert the battery into the battery charger , making sure that the r and s markings on the battery match those on the battery charger .

34 If you are using the camer a for the first time, read this section. Playing Back Images V iewing Y our Images T o select playback mode, press the 6 (Playback) button. When the camera is off, pressing and holding the 6 (Playback) button longer than 1 second turns the camera on in playback mode.

61 5 Shooting Menu Auto Brack et Choose the type of bracketing per formed. Auto Br acket If [On] is selected, the camera will take three photos each time the shutter-r elease button is pressed: one underexposed by 0.5 EV, a sec ond at current exposure settings, and a third ov erexposed by 0.
62 5 Shooting Menu Exposure Compensation Use exposure compensation to vary exposure from the value selected by the camera. Choose from values between –2 and +2; negative values produce darker pictures, positiv e values brighter pictures.
63 5 Shooting Menu White Balance Adjust the white balance so that a white subject will appear white . At purchase, the white balanc e mode is set to [Auto]. Change the setting in situations where the white balance is difficult to adjust eff ectively , such as when shooting an object of a single color or when shooting under multiple light sources.

69 6 Playback Menu • The size of the image after cropping depends on the size of the original and the size of the crop (the cr op displayed when you select [ T rim] is the second largest; to select the largest crop , press 9 ).
70 6 Playback Menu Contr ast Correction Create copies that hav e been processed to adjust brightness and contrast. Highlight [Contrast Corr ection] in the playback menu and press $ to displa y a level slider and histogram. Press ! t o make the photo brighter , or " to make it darker .

86 7 Setup Menu SD WORM No password is requir ed when SD WORM cards ( G P .20) are used. If no memory card is inser ted or another type of card is used, you will be prompted to enter a passw ord when the camera is turned on. Entering an incorrect password will cause the camera to turn off .

92 9 Direct Printing Caution --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • Do not force the USB cable into the terminal. • Do not apply excessive force with the USB cable connected. • When using the USB cable, do not move the camera with the USB cable.
93 9 Direct Printing 3 S elect an item and press the $ button to view the options available . • When [Connecting…] is displayed, the connection to the printer is not yet established. When a connec tion is established, [Connecting …] disappears and [Direct Print] appears.
