Troubleshooting 68 5 Note ❒ If the problem cannot be solved, contac t your sales or service re presentative. Part of t he image cannot be print ed. A paper size which is smaller than that specified in the applicat ion is used for pr inting. Load the correct size of paper.
Removing Misfed Paper 69 5 Removing Misf ed Paper When a paper misfeed occurs, an er- ror message appears on the pan el dis- play. The pr ocedure you should follow to remove the misfed pap er depends on the location of the m is- feed, which is indicated on the panel disp lay.
Troubleshooting 70 5 When "Misf eed: B " Appears A Open the duplex unit by lifting the catch. B Open the right cover by lifting the catch. C Remove the misfed paper fr om inside of the right cover. D Close the right cover befo re clos- ing the duplex unit.

C If the misfed paper is not re- moved in step B , while lifting the lever, lift cover Z2 ( A ), and re- move the misfed paper ( B ).
Adding Staples 75 5 Adding Staples When “Add Staples” appears on the panel display, the staples have run out. Follows these steps to add a new staple refill. Note ❒ After adding the staple refill, sta- ples might not be ejec ted for the first few times.

Removing Jammed Staples 77 5 Removing Jammed S taples If staples do not eject pr operly, they might be jammed. Note ❒ Staples might jam becaus e of curled paper. In th is case, try turn- ing the paper over in the tray. ❒ After removing the jammed sta- ples, staples might not be ejected for the first few times.
Troubleshooting 78 5 Replacing the Toner Bottle R WARNING: R CAUTION: A Open the fro nt cover. B Lift the green handle. C While pushing the green lever ( A ), hold the handle and slide the toner holder ou t slightly ( B ). • Do not inciner ate spilled toner or us ed toner.
