The LEVEL 4 setting allows reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations. Built-in CD Player Basic Operations 1 Folder number indicator Shows the folder number currently playing when the compressed audio is playing.

Playing songs in a random order (shuf fle) 1 Display the function menu. Refer to Introduction to advanced operations on the previous page. 2 Use MUL TI-CONTROL to select SHUFFLE MODE in the function menu. 3 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to select your fa- vorite setting.
Changing audiobook speed While listening to an audiobook on iPod, play- back speed can be changed. 1 Display the function menu. Refer to Introduction to advanced operations on page 24. 2 Use MUL TI-CONTROL to select AUDIOBOOKS in the function menu. 3 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to select your fa- vorite setting.
Even though your audio player does not con- tain a Bluetooth module, you can still control it from this unit via Bluetooth wireless technol- ogy using a Bluetooth adapter (sold sepa- rately). 1 Device name Shows the device name of the connected Bluetooth audio player (or Bluetooth adapter).
4 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to establish con- nection. # While connecting, CONNECTING flashes. If the connection is established, CONNECTED is displayed. # If the connection fails, ERROR is displayed.

Bluetooth T elephone Important ! Since this unit is on standby to connect with your cellular phone via Bluetooth wireless technology , using this unit without running the engine can result in battery drainage. ! Advanced operations that require your atten- tion such as dialing numbers on the monitor , using phone book, etc.
2 Use MUL TI-CONTROL to select CONNECTION. The connection menu is displayed. T urn to change the menu option. Press to se- lect. 3 T ur n MUL TI-CONTROL to select the function.
When you select YES , this unit changes to PH BOOK DOWNLOAD and the download op- eration automatically begins. After complet- ing, DA T A DOWNLOADED is displayed. According to the circumstances, this unit changes to PH BOOK TRANSFER . In this case, refer to step 4 on T ransferring entries to the phone book on page 40.
2 T ur n MUL TI-CONTROL to select P AIRED PHONE. # P ush MUL TI-CONTROL up or down to select a desired phone. # P ush MUL TI-CONTROL left or right to display the BD address, group and ID number . 3 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to start connec- tion. PIN code is set to 0000 as the default.
3 Push MUL TI-CONTROL up or down to select a pairing assignment. P1 (user phone 1) — P2 (user phone 2) — P3 (user phone 3) # P ush MUL TI-CONTROL left or right to switch the BD address and device name. # If the assignment is empty , NO DA T A is dis- played and operation is not possible.
Notes ! P ressing MUL TI-CONTROL while talking on the phone changes into ECHO CANCEL of FUNCTION . For details on ECHO CANCEL , refer to Echo canceling and noise reduction on page 41. ! The estimated call time appears in the display (this may differ slightly from the actual call time).
# If you do not operate anything within about 30 seconds, the list display is canceled automati- cally . 4 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to make a call. # While in the phone number list, press and hold MUL TI-CONTROL to add or delete + to the phone number . 5 T o end the call, press .
6 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to store the new number . After the number is stored, the display reverts to the detailed list. Assign genres to phone numbers If there are a lot of entries in the Phone Book it can be useful to assign them to specific gen- res (categories) for easier searching.
3 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to select a preset number that you want to assign a phon e number to. 4 Press and hold MUL TI-CONTROL to dis- play MEMOR Y. Push MUL TI-CONTROL up or down to switch MEMOR Y (memor y) and DELETE (delete). # If a phone number is already stored in the se- lected preset number , the new phone number will overwrite the old one.
Assigning preset numbers by using MUL TI-CONTROL 1 Push MUL TI-CONTROL up or down to switch preset numbers. 2 Perform from step 4 to 10 of Assigning preset numbers on page 37. Assigning preset numbers by using remote control 1 Press thumb pad to display RECENT CALLS (call history list).
! DEVICE INFO is the same as that of the Blue- tooth audio. (Refer to Displaying BD (Bluetooth Device) address on page 29.) ! PH. B. NAME VIEW (phone book name view) cannot be selected for cellular phone regis- tered guest phone.
4 Use the cellular phone to perform phone book transfer . Perform phone book transfer using the cellu- lar phone. For detailed instructions, refer to the instruction manual that came with your cellular phone. # Depending on the cellular phone, phone book can only be transferred one by one.
Making a call by entering phone number Important Be sure to park your vehicle and apply the park- ing brake when per forming this operation. 1 Display the function menu. Refer to Introduction to advanced operations on page 39. 2 Use MUL TI-CONTROL to select NUMBER DIAL.

Introduction of audio adjustments 1 Audio display Shows the audio adjustment status. 1 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to display the main menu. 2 Use MUL TI-CONTROL to select AUDIO. T urn to change the menu option. Press to se- lect. The audio menu is displayed.
Display Equalizer curve POWERFUL Powerful NA TURAL Natural VOCAL V ocal CUSTOM1 Custom 1 CUSTOM2 Custom 2 FLA T Flat S.BASS Super bass ! CUSTOM1 and CUSTOM2 are adjusted equalizer cur ves that you create. Adjust- ments can be made with a 7-band graphic equalizer .
3 Push MUL TI-CONTROL left or right to select the equalizer band to adjust. Each time MUL TI-CONTROL is pushed left or right, equalizer bands are selected in the fol- lowing order: 50HZ — 125HZ — 315HZ — 800HZ — 2KHZ — 5KHZ — 12.5KHZ 4 Push MUL TI-CONTROL up or down to adjust the level of the equalizer band.
4 Push MUL TI-CONTROL up or down to adjust the output level of the subwoofer . Each time MUL TI-CONTROL is pushed up or down, subwoofer level increases or decreases. +6 to -24 is displayed as the level is increased or decreased. Boosting the bass Bass boost function boosts the bass level of sound.
Adjusting initial settings Using the initial settings, you can customize various system settings to achieve optimal per- formance from this unit. 1 F unction display ! Shows the function status. 1 Press SOURCE and hold until the unit turns off. 2 Press MUL TI-CONTROL and hold until the initial setting menu appears in the dis- play .
Note Y ou can match the clock to a time signal by pressing MUL TI-CONTROL . ! If 00 to 29 , the minutes are rounded down. (e.g., 10:18 becomes 10:00 .) ! If 30 to 59 , the minutes are rounded up. (e.g., 10:36 becomes 11:00 .) Switching the auxiliary setting Auxiliar y devices connected to this unit can be activated individually.
Switching the sound muting/attenuation Sound from this system is muted or attenu- ated automatically when the signal from the equipment with mute function is received. ! The sound is muted or attenuated, TEL MUTE or TEL A TT are displayed and no audio adjustment is possible.
Activating the BT AUDIO source Y ou need to activate the BT AUDIO source in order to use a Bluetooth audio player . 1 Display the initial setting menu. Refer to Adjusting initial settings on page 48. 2 Use MUL TI-CONTROL to select BT AUDIO. 3 Press MUL TI-CONTROL to turn the BT AUDIO source on.
Displaying system version for repair Should this unit fails to operate properly and you consult your dealer for repair , you may be asked to indicate the system versions of this unit and of Bluetooth module. Y ou can display the versions and confirm them.
Using the AUX source Up to two auxiliar y devices such as VCR or portable devices (sold separately) can be con- nected to this unit. When connected, auxiliar y devices are automatically read as AUX sources and assigned to AUX1 or AUX2 . The relation- ship between AUX1 and AUX2 sources is ex- plained below .
Basic operation F unctions allocated to the following opera- tions are different depending on the con- nected external unit. For details concerning functions, refer to the connected external unit ’ s owner ’ s manual. % Press BAND. % Press and hold BAND.
! USB – USB portable audio player/USB memory ! IPOD – iP od ! BT AUDIO – Bluetooth audio player ! DVD – DVD player/multi-DVD player # T o turn pause off, press PGM again. % Press PGM and hold to tur n BSM on when selecting tuner or HD Radio as the source.

Selecting an XM channe l directly When using the remote control, you can select the XM channel directly by entering the de- sired channel number . 1 Press DIRECT. Channel number input display appears. 2 Press 0 to 9 to enter the desired channel number .
Selecting a channel in the channel category 1 Select the channel select settings to CA TEGORY. Refer to Switching the XM channel select mode on the previous page. 2 Push MUL TI-CONTROL up or down to select the desired channel category . 3 Push MUL TI-CONTROL left or right to select the desired channel in the selected channel category .
Selecting a SIRIUS channel directly When using the remote control, you can select the SIRIUS channel directly by entering the de- sired channel number . 1 Press DIRECT. Channel number input display appears. 2 Press 0 to 9 to enter the desired channel number .
Selecting the SIRIUS channel select mode Y ou have two methods for selecting a channel: by number and by category. When selecting by number , channels in any categor y can be selected. Select by categor y to narrow your search down to only channels in a particular categor y .
When the game of the selected team starts When a game of the selected team is about to start (or is currently playing) on a different sta- tion, GAME ALERT INFO is displayed. Press and hold MUL TI-CONTROL to switch to that station, and you can listen to that game.
HD Radio tuner Basic Operations Y ou can use this unit to contr ol an HD Radio tuner (GEX-P10HD), which is sold separately . F or details concerning operation, refer to the HD Radio ’ s operation manual. 1 Band indicator 2 P reset number indicator 3 F requency indicator % Select a band Press BAND .

Multi-CD Player Basic Operations Y ou can use this unit to contr ol a multi-CD player , which is sold separately. ! Only functions described in this manual ar e supported by 50-disc multi-CD players. ! This unit is not designed to operate disc title list functions with a 50-disc multi-CD player .
Function and operation PLA Y MODE , RANDOM MODE , SCAN MODE , P AUSE and TITLE INPUT opera- tions are basically the same as that of the built-in CD player . Function name Operation PLA Y MODE Refer to Selecting a repeat play range on page 19. However , the repeat play ranges you can select are diffe rent from that of the built-in CD player .
5 Push MUL TI-CONTROL up to store the currently playing track in the playlist. MEMOR Y COMPLETE is displayed and the currently playing selection is added to your playlist. 6 Press BAND to return to the playback display . Note After data for 100 discs is stored in memor y , data for a new disc will overwrite the oldest one.
4 Push MUL TI-CONTROL down to erase all tracks on the currently playing CD from your ITS playlist. All tracks on the currently playing CD are de- leted from your playlist and MEMOR Y DELETED is displayed. 5 Press BAND to return to the playback display .
DVD Player Basic Operations Y ou can use this unit to contr ol a DVD player or multi-DVD player , which is sold separately . F or details concerning operation, refer to the DVD player ’ s or multi-DVD player ’ s operation manual.

TV tuner Basic Operations Y ou can use this unit to contr ol a TV tuner , which is sold separately . F or details concerning operation, refer to the TV tuner ’ s operation manual. This section pro - vides information on TV operations with this unit, which differs from that described in the TV tuner ’ s operation manual.

T roubleshooting Bluetooth audio/telephone Symptom Cause Action The audio of the Bluetooth audio source is not played back. A Bluetooth-con- nected cellular phone is cur- rently in a phone call. The audio will be played back when the call is com- pleted.
CHECK USB The USB connec- tor or USB cable is short-circuited. Confirm that the USB connector or USB cable is not caught in some- thing or damaged. The connected USB portable audio player/ USB memory consumes more than 500 mA (maximum allow- able current).

Do not use an adapter when playing 8-cm CDs. ! Do not insert anything other than a CD into the CD loading slot.
