It contains import ant information about your phone , including the model and electronic serial numbers (ESN ). Nokia recommends that you note this information on the title page o f this guide.

T he whip an tenna is activated when the wh ip antenna is fully ext ended. As with any o t her radio trans mitting device, do not touch either of th e two antennas u nnecessarily whe n the phone is swi tc he d o n.

[ 15 ] About yo ur phone Charge the b attery Follow thes e guidelines to charge the batt ery . 1 Connect the cha r ger to an ac wall outlet. 2 With your phone on or of f, conne ct the lead fro m the cha rger to the charg ing port located on the bottom of the phone.
[ 16 ] Remo ve the batt ery Warning! Use only your hands to remove the battery . Do not puncture, burn or use any object s that may damag e the phone or the battery . Please recycle th e battery , or dispose of properly . Y ou will need to remove the existing batter y if you want to install a new battery .

[ 24 ] For examp le, entering 75 calendar notes may consume significa nt shared memory . Conseq uently , if you attempt to d ownload a Java midle t into your phone, a messa ge saying Memory Full may appe ar . To proce ed, you must dele te some of the items or inf ormation occupying t he memory .

The header line provides you w ith a reminder of the phone book entry or the menu or submenu with which y ou are working.

Once you locat e the desire d name and number f rom the phone bo ok, you can perfor m any of the follo wing tasks: call the numbe r , edit or add informat ion to the select ed phone book en try , or delete the ent ry .
[ 48 ] Displ ayi ng the phone book Phone book information can be displayed in two different ways: • Name list -Entries displayed as a list of names • Name+number -Nam e and default numb er displayed When view ing t he phone b ook, use the up o r down scr oll keys to scroll through the ph one book entries.
[ 49 ] Phone book 4 Edit the name or number , then press OK . • ADD A NUMBER TO A PHONE BOOK ENTRY There are s everal way s to add additional numb ers to an existing phone book en try .
[ 50 ] Change the numb er type Every t ime you create a new ph one book entry , your phone auto matically assign s the Gen er al numb er type to the new num ber . Y ou can use a phone book entr y Options menu to change the number type f or any of the phone numbers.
[ 5 1 ] Phone book • DELETE STORED AND NUMBERS Y ou can delete a number from a pho ne book entry , delet e all details of a contact , or delet e the ent ire content s of your p hone book. Once y ou delete information, it cannot be rec overed. DELETE A NU MBER 1 Recall the ph one book entry you w a nt to modif y .

[ 56 ] Use c all log sh ortcu ts MISSED CALLS When you mis s a call(s), the mes sage Missed calls appears on your phone’s screen, along wit h the numbe r of calls missed. Important: Y ou ar e notified of missed calls only if your phone was turned on a nd you are in a digital service area.
