DVR Network Configur ation Now that you are familiar with t he equipment and should be able to i dentify a router from a modem and a Cat5 network cable from a telephone cable, we will proceed to determine the network scenario that fits your current netwo rk.

34 CHAP. 6 Network Setup REMOTELY : To access the DVR remote ly, that is from outside you r local network, follo w the above directions for accessing locally, except for the IP address. For CASE A, you have received a static IP from you r Internet provider .
35 CHAP. 6 Network Setup REMOTELY : To access the DVR re motely, open the remote view ing software and click on the “Settings” button. As far as TCP/IP connectivity is concerned only 4 entries need to be made : For CASE B, you have receiv ed a static IP from y our Intern et provider.
36 CHAP. 6 Network Setup Accessing the DVR using the Remot e Software for C ASE C LOCALLY : To access the DVR locally, that is from yo ur local network on site fr om where the DVR is installed . Open the remote viewing software and click on the “Settings ” button.

This setup will not work with most Dynamic DSLDKDKD providers.
