Overview Scan to Network let s users scan their docume nts to network d estina tions spe cified b y the adm inist rator. After establis hing th e destinati ons (shared network fo lders) in t he network, co mplete the s etup pro cess by in stalling and configur ing th e application on the scanner.
Configuring Scan to Network Configurin g a destinatio n 1 From the Embe dded We b Server , click Settings > Apps > Apps Ma nagement . 2 From th e list of in stall ed applicat ions, cli ck the name o f the applica tion. 3 Under Scan Desti nation, clic k Add .
Notes: • To use the LDAP features, t he scanner must be configur ed to use an LDAP server. For m ore information, see “Configuring LDAP” on page 11.
Use To Prompt for u sername and password Prompt the user to enter authentication credentials. Note: Do not select thi s option if your scanner has been configur ed to use access controls.
Select To Forma t Specify the output for the sca nned image. Note: The Secure PDF file format is not avai lable on devices running the Embedded Solution s Framework (eSF) version 1.2. • TIFF —This creates multiple fil es or a single file. The file size is us ual ly larg er t han a n equ iva lent JPE G.
Select To Scan Prev iew Determine if the user should see a scan prev iew of the first page or not (Off). If Advanced Scan Preview is enabled, then the user has additional op tions availabl e from t he preview sc reen, such as automatic and manual crop, rotate pages, contra st, and darkness.
Select To Multipl e Select Allow users to ma ke multiple selections fr om a list of options. • Name —This is the name of the prompt . This will not appear on the scanner display. • Prompt Text — This is the text that will appear on the scanner displa y.
Select To Enable Page Break Enable the scanner to brea k a job to multiple jobs. Number of pages betwee n jobs Allow users to specify the number of page per file. Note: This setting i s enabled only when Enabl e Page Break is s elected. Barcode Enable the scanner to break a job based on a bar code specified in the first page bar code template.
Select To Allo w user to cr eate fo lder Let users create a subfolder within the de stin ation folder and sa ve their scan job. Star t in us erna me fol der (create if it doesn't exist) Save each user's scanned document s in a subf older named for their user name within the destination fol der.
