21 TRANSOM ANGLE ADJUSTMENT INSTALLATION Use the trans om angle adjusti ng bolt (p. ) to adju st the angle of the outboard motor so the propel ler i s perpendi cular to the surf ace of the water.
Improperly maintaining this outboard motor or failing to correct a problem before operation can cause a malfunction in which you could be seriously hurt or killed. Always perform a pre- operation inspection before each operation, and correct any problem.

If the choke knob was pul led to the ON positio n to start the engin e, gradual ly push it to the OFF position as th e engine warms up.
