AUDIO SYSTEM SET-UP - 23 - (1) These buttons allow the remote to c ontrol y our TV, VCR, cable box, satellite rec eiver, DVD play er , or other audio/video equipment depending on which mode is chosen, as explained above.

PICTURE-IN-PICTURE (PIP) - 27 - (1) PIP button Press the PIP button and a s ub-picture will appear in one of the three differ ent modes (SINGLE, SPLIT or SURF), depending on the last selec tion of the PIP m ode. To change the PIP m ode use the T HUMB STICK or and the new selection will appear the next tim e the PIP func tion is used.
PICTURE-IN-PICTURE (PIP) - 28 - SURF MO DE PIP This feature will autom atically scan all ac tive channel number (those set in m em ory) and display them as PIP s ub- pictures, along the r ight edge of the scr een. Press the PIP button a sec ond time to r emove the sub- pictures f orm the screen.
PICTURE-IN-PICTURE (PIP) - 29 - (4) FREEZE button (With PIP ON) If you wi s h to freeze the sub-pictur e, press the FR EEZE button. This is convenient when try ing to write down the address f or a m ail order com pany, recording statistic s for a s porting event, etc.

THEATER - 62 - NOTE: If optional left and right speak ers are connected while in SURROUND-DO LBY PRO LOGIC (Normal mode) or SURRO UND-DOLBY 3 STEREO (Norm al mode), the internal speak ers m ay be turned of f for better separation between left, c enter, and right channels (s ee page 60).
THEATER - 63 - The f ollowing surround settings will repr oduce the "live" sound you w ould hear in concer t halls, sports stadium s, movie theater s, etc. when you set up y our speak er system as shown in the section on audio system setup on pages 20-21.
