INSTALLATION Polarization— This DIRECTV PLUS digital satellite receiver is equipped with a plug that will fit into the power outlet only one way. Do not modify the plug defeating this feature. If the plug does not fit, contact your electrician to replace your outlet.

The HRMC-5 can additionally control many other auxiliary devices such as cable boxes, amplifiers, and laser disc players.
P AGE 2-1 It is recommended that you have your DIRECTV PLUS System professionally installed. This is due to safety issues, electrical codes, and assurance of a quality installation.

SETTING UP THE DIRECTV PLUS SYSTEM P AGE 2-3 If your VCR has S-video input… use an S-video cable to connect the digital satellite receiver’s S-VIDEO output to the S-video input on your VCR. First, there is nothing that you can do using the front panel keys or the remote control keys which could harm the digital satellite receiver in any way.

This section describes installing the satellite dish antenna base plate and mast onto the side of your brick house or on a chimney.
INSTALLING AND POINTING YOUR SATELLITE DISH ANTENNA P AGE 4-9 8) Install the mast assembly onto the mounting surface using a 3-inch x ¼-20 machine screw (see diagram). Tighten the screw enough to secure the base plate, but leave it loose enough to enable you to adjust the base plate.

THE ON-SCREEN GUIDES P AGE 6-7 To navigate the guide, use the , , , and keys. You can continue to press the or keys to scroll more program offerings onto the screen. Pressing on any title will direct you to the INFORMATION screen. Use and to scroll through the guide entries a full page at a time.
