12 Description of the appliance P osition corr esponds to the ENERGY SAVING pr ogr amme at appr ox. 67°C for normally soiled laundry , extended washing time (can- not be combined with QUICK ). P osition at 40°C = Easy to ir on. In this position the laundry is gently washed and spun to avoid any cr easing.
13 Description of the appliance When the delay is cancelled, the display shows the dur ation of the wash pr ogr amme pr eviously selected. ELECTRONIC DRYING button By means of this button you can choo.
SOAK The machine performs a soak of about 30 minutes at 30°C. By pr essing the DELA Y ST ART button the soak time can be pr olonged up to 1 0 hour s max. After this time the wash cycle will automatically start. This function cannot be used with W OOL , PREW ASH or ST AIN pr ogr amme.
T o empty out water: • press the ST ART/PAUSE button: after emptying, the machine performs the spin cycle r equir ed for the type of wash selected; • select the spin speed and then pr ess START/P AUSE; • select the DRAIN progr amme to empty out the water without spinning.
When the pr ogr amme has finished, if the OVERDOSAGE light comes on, it indicates that too much deter gent has been used or that the dr ain filter is blocked. Cancelling a pr ogramme T o cancel a pr ogr amme which is running, turn the pr ogr amme selector dial to the OFF position.
Deter gent dispenser dr awer Compartment for pr ewash or soak deter gent and stain r emover . The prewash or soak deter gent is added at the beginning of the wash pr ogr amme. The stain r emover is added during the ST AIN-Action phase in the main wash.

W eight of laundry T ypes of fabric and care labels The labels on garments help you to select the most suitable wash pr o- gr amme. The laundry should be sorted out accor ding to the type of fab- ric and the instructions indicated on car e labels. T emper atur es indicated on labels ar e always maximum temper atur es.
Delicates Micr ofibr es, synthetics or curtains marked with these symbols r equir e a very gentle tr eatment. The DELICA TES pr ogr amme is suitable for this type of fabric. W oollens and particularly delicate items Fabrics such as wool, wool mix or silk marked with this symbol ar e par- ticularly sensitive to machine washing.
21 Deter gents and additives Which deter gent and additive? Use only deter gents and additives for washing machines. Follow the manufactur er’ s instructions.
Pr eparing the drying cycle As a dryer , the machine works on the condensation principle. Ther efor e, the water tap must be open and the dr ain hose must dr ain water into a sink or into the dr ain pipe, even during the dry- ing cycle .
Drying symbols on garment labels Always look at the garment label to check whether garments can be machine dried. The following symbols r efer to drying: Machine drying is usually possible Normal dryi.
Additional drying Should the laundry still be too wet at the end of the pr ogr amme, set another short drying time. W arning! T o pr event the formation of cr eases or shrinking of fab- rics , avoid excessive drying.

EXTRA RINSE This appliance is designed for saving water . However , for people with a very delicate skin (aller gic to deter gents) it may be necessary to rinse the laundry using an extr a quantity of water (extr a rinse). The extr a rinse is available only with the cotton, synthetics or delicate pr ogr amme.

34 Cleaning and maintenance After each wash At the end of the wash pr ogr amme, pull the dispenser dr awer out a lit- tle to let it dry . Leave the door ajar to allow air to cir culate. If the machine is not used for a pr olonged period: Close the water tap and unplug the appliance.
Door seal Check fr om time to time the door seal and eliminate eventual possible objects that could be tr apped in the fold. Dr ain filter The dr ain filter collects thr eads and small objects inadvertently left in the laundry . Check regularly that the filter is clean.
Emer gency emptying out If the water is not dischar ged (pump is blocked, filter or dr ain pipe ar e clogged), pr oceed as follows to empty out the machine: • pull out the plug fr om the power socke.

If during the spin cycle the machine makes an unusual whistling noise, differ ent fr om the noise made by tr adi- tional washing machines, this is due to a new type of motor . If water is not visible in the drum, this is due to the modern technology of new washing machines that use less water than tr aditional machines.

46 Installation Unpacking All tr ansit bolts and packing must be r emoved befor e using the appliance. Using a spanner , unscrew and r emove the rear right-hand bolt and lay the machine on its back, taking car e not to squash the hoses. This can be avoided by placing one of the corner packing pieces between the machine and the floor .
47 Installation P ositioning Install the machine on a flat har d floor . Make sur e that air cir culation ar ound the machine is not impeded by carpets, rugs etc.
48 Installation The inlet hose is pr ovided with a water stop device , which pr otects against damage caused by water leaks in the hose which could develop due to natur al ageing of the hose. This fault is shown by a r ed sector in the window “ A” .
49 P ermanent connection In the case of a permanent connection it is necessary that you install a double pole switch between the appliance and the electricity supply (mains), with a minimum gap of 3 mm between the switch contacts and of a type suitable for the r equir ed load in compliance with the curr ent electrical r egulations.
