18 Chapter 1 Getting Started This chapter summarizes how to connect components and how to turn on and start using your gigabeat ® portable media player . Using the gigabeat ® : ❖ T ransfer music tracks from y our computer to the gigabeat ® using W indows Media ® Player 11 or 10 and then li sten to them on the gig abeat ® .
19 Getting Started Using the gi gabeat®: ❖ Use the gigabeat ® as an FM radio. ❖ Record tracks directly from a CD or MD player and listen to them on the gigabeat ® . Computer System Requirements 1 Y ou will need a computer system th at meets the requirements listed below .

T ransferring photos to the gigabeat ® gigabeat ® is intended for recording, downloading, s torage, and/or playback of authorized content and any other lawful use.

74 Chapter 4 Listening to FM Radio Y ou can listen to your fa vorite FM radio stations on the gigabeat ® . Since the earbud cable works as the antenna, be sure to plug the earbuds into the gigabeat ® when you use the radio.
75 Listening to FM Radi o Automatically pr esetting channels (A uto Preset) 3 Press the Right o r Enter button. The first time you use the FM radio, the preset mode tun ing screen is displayed. From that point on, th e mode last used will be displayed.
76 Listening to FM Ra dio Automatically pr esetting channels (Auto Pr eset) 6 Press the Right o r Enter button. Auto Preset begins. The gigabeat ® adds the channels that you can recei ve. Auto Preset ends when the gigabeat ® completes a full cycle of the frequency band or when it has found 10 recei vable channels.

86 Recording Recor ding music fr om other audio equipment T o record using Auto-Sync: 1 Connect the audio output from the CD/MD player, or other device to the gigabeat ® Earb ud/REC jack. Be sure to connect to the headphone jack on the CD/ MD or other player being used.
