Che ck that the paper is flat in the tr a y and below the maximum paper mark a . h Sl ow ly push the pap er tray com pletely into the machine. i While holding the paper tray in place, pull out the paper support a until it clicks, and t hen unfold the pap er suppo rt flap b .
4 3 Connect the power co rd an d te leph one line a Connect the power cord. b Connect the t elephone li ne cord. Conne ct one end of the tele phone line cord to the jack o n the machine m arked LIN E a nd the ot her e nd to a mod ula r wa ll jac k. Im por tant DO NOT c onnect the USB cable yet (if you are using a US B cable).

7 5 Check the pri nt qual ity a When the preparation proces s has finished, the LCD shows this messa ge . Pre ss Color Start . b Check the quality of the f our color blocks a on the sheet. (black/yellow/cyan/mag enta) c If all lines are clear an d visi ble, press 1 ( Yes ) on the dial pa d to finish t he quality c heck.
8 7 Choose the corr ect Recei ve Mode The correc t Receive Mo de is dete rmined by t he e xternal devices a nd teleph one subsc riber se rvices (Voice M ail, Distinctive Ring, etc.) you have (or will be using) on the same l ine as the Brother machine.
