Important notes Using the Pocket PC Store the Pocket PC in a fully charged state in a dry environment. If y ou store the Pocket PC for up to a month, the storage temperature should be between -20°C and +60°C. If you store the Pocket PC for up to three months, the storage temperature should be between -20°C and +45°C.

When doing so, watch the contact connections and hold onto the tab (4). ► Slide the cover (5) in the direction of the arrow as far as it will go.

UK You can connect the PSC11R-050 power adapter directly to the Pocket PC. ► Slide the suitable power adapter plug into the PSC11R-050 power adapter in the direction of the arrow until it engages.

Operating Pocket PC Installing ActiveSync on y our PC/notebook The data synchronisation helps you alw ays keep your data on your Pocket PC and y our PC/notebook up to date when you work alternately with your PC/notebook and y our Pocket PC. The ActiveSync cable and the ActiveSync software are provided for data sy nchronisation.

Operating Pocket PC Resetting the Pocket-PC (Cold start) If your Pocket-PC locks up and switching it on and off with the suspend/resume button and soft reset has no effect, you can reset your Pocket-PC. Unsaved data is lost. Shut down all programs before you reset the Pocket-PC.

Operating Pocket PC Inserting and removing expansion card A slot enables the operation of an expansion ca rd of the type "Secure Digital I/O" or "MultiMediaCard". Observe the manufacturer's instructions when using the expansion cards.

Operating Pocket PC Synchronising data with ActiveSy nc To also have the current version of the data you have processed on the road on your Pocket PC available on your PC/notebook, you must copy t hese data to your PC/notebook.

Operating Pocket PC Using the cradle With the cradle you can charge the battery in t he Pocket PC and/or carry out a data sy nchronisation between the Pocket PC and a PC/notebook. The cradle has an audio output for connecting ac tive loudspeakers, amplifiers or headphones.

Configuring the Pocket PC You can already choose from a large number of pr ograms when y ou use the Pocket PC for the first time. In addition, proven default settings are def ined for the menu structure, energy management, memory management and security functions.
Configuring the Pocket PC Using energy-saving functions You can save energy in several w ays to optimally utilise the battery operating time: ● Switch the Pocket PC into the Suspend mode when you are not using it. ● Reduce the processor speed. ● Switch the display lighting off or reduce the brightness.
Configuring the Pocket PC Adjusting menus Frequently used programs appear in the Start menu. You can adjust the Start menu to meet y our needs. ► Touch the Menus symbol under Start - Settings - Personal . A list of programs/applications appears. To remove programs from the Start menu, click in the checkbox of the program.
Configuring the Pocket PC Configuring hardware keys FSC KeyLock: Preventing switch-on with application buttons By default, your Pocket LOOX starts up if the Suspend button and an application button are pressed. In the program FSC KeyLock you can specify that the Pocket PC only starts if the Suspend button is pressed.
Connecting and networking the Pocket PC with other devices The Pocket PC offers a wide range of ways to exchange data with other devices or to w ork in a network. You are already familiar w ith data synchronisation via ActiveSync and the ActiveSync cable in the section " Synchronising data with ActiveSy nc ".
Connecting and netw orking the Pocket PC w ith other devices Wireless communication with Bluetooth (optional) With your Pocket PC with an integrated Bluetooth module you can communicate w irelessly with other Bluetooth devices, e.g. with another Pocket PC, a notebook or a mobile phone.
Troubleshooting and tips If a fault occurs in your Pocket PC, try to eliminat e it with the measures described in this chapter. If you fail to correct the problem, proceed as follows: ► Make a note of the steps and the circumstances t hat led to the fault.
Troubleshooting and tips The Pocket PC does not start after switch on If the Pocket PC does not start after switch on, this may be due to one of the following: The battery is dead. ► Charge the battery. ► Connect the PSC11R-050 power adapter to the cradle with the Pocket PC.
Troubleshooting and tips The Suspend/Resume button does not respond properly You have pressed and held the Suspend/Resume button too long to switch the Pocket PC on or off. ► Briefly press the Suspend/Resume button until the Pocket PC switches on or off.
