2 Getting to Kno w Your ZSR4154WE Top Panel LED Indicator Status Description POWER ON ZSR4154WE is switched on and correct ly powered SYS Flashing Indicates the system works normally. ON Indicates WA N port is connected WAN Flashing Indicates WAN activity (transferring or receiving data) WLAN Flashing Indicates the wireless signal is OK.

4 Chapter 2 Hardware Installation Please follow the following instruction to bu ild the network connection between your ZSR4154WE and y our computers, network devices: 1. Connect the A/C power adapter to the w all s ocket, and then connect i t to the Power socket of ZSR41 54WE.
5 3. Connect your xDSL / cable modem to the W AN port of ZSR4154WE by Ethernet cable. 4. Please c heck all LEDs o n the top panel. POWER LED s hould b e steadily on, W AN and LAN LEDs should be o n if the computer / netw ork devi ce connected to the respectiv e port of ZSR4154WE is powered on and co rrectl y connected.
6 Chapter 3 Connect Your ZSR41 54WE How to Set the Network Config urations for My Computer 1. Right click My Network Places and select Properties 2. Right click Local Area Netwo rk Connection and select Properties .
7 3. Select Internet Proto col (TCP/IP) and click Properties . 4. Select Obtain a n IP addres s autom atically and Obta in DNS server address automatically .
8 5. Or select Use the following IP ad dress and enter the IP address, Subnet mask, Default ga teway . Of course, y ou ne ed to input the DNS se rver address provided by your I SP . Otherw ise, you can use the ZSR415 4WE’ s default gateway as the DNS proxy server .
9 How to Check t he Network Conn ection 1. Select Start → → → → Program s → → → → Accessories → → → → Command Prompt . 2. Input ping 192.168.0.1 and press Enter . If the screen displays as below, it means your PC is connected to y our rou ter successfully .
10 Chapter 4 Basic Confi gurations This section is to sh ow you how to confi gure your new Z SR4154WE through the W e b-based Configuration Utilit y . How to Access t he Web-based Conf iguration Utility 1.
1 1 Setup Wizard 1. When Welcome to Setup Wiza rd pop out, Click Next to continue. 2. Select one Internet connection type you’re using. If you’re not sure , click Detect or contact your Internet Service Provider .
12 a. ADSL Virtual Dial-up (Via PPPoE) Enter the Account and P assword provided by your ISP , and click Next . b. Dynamic IP (Via DHCP) If your connection type is Dynamic IP , i t means your IP ad dress keeps changing every time y ou connect. Y ou do not need to enter the information.
13 d. L2TP Enter the Account and P assword provided by your ISP . L2TP (Lay er 2 T unneling Protocol) provides two add ress modes. Dynamic I P: If the L2TP offered by your IS P is Dyn amic IP , please select Dynamic IP . Static IP: Please fill in the parameters provided by y our ISP .
14 3. Click Apply and re boot ZSR4154WE, or se lect Reboot in System Tools o f the left menu and click Reboot the router button. 4. While rebooting, please wait for few minutes and DO NOT power off . 5. Select Network Sta tus of the left menu to find ou t the current networ k and system information.
15 Chapter 5 Advanced Settings LAN Settings MAC Address: ZSR4154WE’ s p hysical M AC address on y our local n etwork is unchangeable. IP Address: ZSR4154WE’s LAN IP ad dress (not your PC’ s IP address). Once you modify the IP address, y ou n eed to remember it for the W e b-based Utility login next time.
16 WAN Settings a. PPPoE Connection Mode: Show your current connection mode. Account: Provided by your ISP . Password: Provided by your ISP . MTU: Maximum T ransmission Unit. It is the size of largest datagram th at can be sent ov er a networ k.
17 b. Dynamic IP MTU: Maximum T ransmission Unit. It is the size of largest datagram th at can be sent ov er a networ k. The default v alue is 1500. Do NOT modify it unless necessary . c. Static IP IP Address: Enter the WAN IP address provid ed by your ISP .
18 d. L2TP L2TP Server IP: Enter the Server IP provided by y our ISP . User Name: Enter L2TP username. Password: Enter L2TP password. MTU: Maximum T ransmission Unit, you may need to change it for optimal performance with your specific ISP .
19 e. PPTP PPTP Server IP: Enter the Server IP provided by y our ISP . User Name: Enter PPTP username provided by your ISP . Password: Enter PPTP password provided by your ISP . Address Mode: Select Static if your ISP supplies you wit h the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway .
20 MAC Address Cl one MAC Address: The MAC address registe red with your Int er net service provider . Clone MAC address: Regist er your PC's MAC address. Restore default MAC address: Restore the default hardware MAC address. DNS Settings DNS: C hoose the checkbox to enable the DNS server .
21 Chapter 6 Wireless Settings Basic Settings Network Mode: Supports 802.11b/g mixed, 802.11 b, 802.11g and 802.11b/g/n mixed modes. Main SSID: Main Service Set Identifier . It’s t he name of your wireless network. Minor SSID: Minor Service Set Identifier .
22 Security Settings a. Mixed WEP WEP (Wired Equivalent Priv acy) is an encryption metho d used to protect your wireless data communications. WEP use s a combination of 6 4-bit or 12 8-bit keys to provide access control t o your network and encryption security for every data transmission.
23 WPA Algorithms: Select one encryption type, AES, TKIP or TKIP&AES. Pass Phrase: Enter the key which must hav e 8-63 ASCII characters. Key Renewal Interval: Specifies the timer the WPA key must changes. The change is done automatically between the serve r and the client.

26 WPS Settings Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS ) is the s implest way to build c onnection betwee n wireless network clients and ZSR41 54WE. Y ou don’ t hav e to select e ncryption mode and input a lo n.
27 PIN: if you want to use PIN code, you hav e to know the PIN code of wireless client a nd s witch it to WPS mo de, then pro vide the PIN co de of the wireless client you wish to connect to ZSR4154WE. WPS Current St atus : : : : Idle means WPS i n idle state.
28 WDS Mode: Lazy Mode: You need to configure ZSR4154WE’s BSSID into another device, but don’t n ee d to input a nother device’s BSSID in ZSR 4154WE, and they will connect together automatically. Bridge Mode: You can wirelessly connect two or more wired networks via this mode.
29 MAC Address Filter: If you want to access ZSR4154 WE from any external IP Address, please select Disable . MAC Address: T o specify an external IP address, please add the MAC address manually and click Add . MAC Address List: The added MAC addresse s are listed here.
30 Chapter 7 DHC P Server These settings are o nly available when DHCP Server in LA N IP section is Enable . DHCP Server: Activat e the check box to enable DHCP server . IP Address Start/End: Enter the range of IP address for DHCP server distribution.
31 Server List & Bi nding IP Address: Input the IP address for the computer on the LAN network. MAC Address: En ter the MAC address o f the computer you want to assign. And then click Add to add to the list. Hostname: The name of the computer .
32 Chapter 8 Virtual Server Port Range Forwardin g This section deals with the port range forwarding m ainly . The P ort Range F orwarding allows yo u to set up a r ange of public services such as we b ser vers, ftp, e-mail and other specialized Internet applications to an assigned IP address on your LAN.
33 DMZ Settings The DMZ(Demilitarized Zone) f unction is to allow one computer in LAN to be exposed to the Internet for a special-purpose service as Internet gaming or videoconferencing. DMZ Host IP Address: The IP address of the computer you wan t to expose.
34 Chapter 9 Traffic Control T raffic control is used to limit communication spe ed in the LAN and WAN. Up to 20 entries can be supported with the capability for at most 254 PCs' speed control, including for IP address range confi guration. Traffic Control: Select the checkbox to enable the internal IP bandwidth control.

38 URL Filter If you wan t to prevent computers in local netwo rk from accessing certain website (like pornograph y , v iolence, or anything you want to bl ock), you c an use this function to stop computers in local network from accessing the site y ou defined here.
39 MAC Filter MAC Filtering Sett ings: Select the che ckbox to e nable MAC address filter . Access Policy: Select one number from the drop-dow n menu. Enable: Select the checkbox to enable the access policy . Delete the Policy: Click Clear button to clear all settings fo r the policy .
40 Remote Web M anagement This function is to allow the network administrator to manage ZSR4154W E remotely . If you want t o access ZSR41 54WE from outside the local network, please select the Enable . Enable: Select the checkbox to enable remote web management.
41 Chapter 12 Routing Settings Routing Table The main duty for ZSR4154WE is to look for a best path for every data fr ame, and transfer this data frame to destination. So, it’ s essential for Z SR4154WE to choose the best path. In order to finish this function, many transferring paths are saved in ZSR415 4WE for choosing when needed.
42 Chapter 13 Syste m Tools Time Settings This function is to select the time zone for your location. If you turn off ZSR4154WE, the time settings will disappear . Howe ver , ZSR4154WE will automatically obtain the GMT time again once it access to the Internet.
43 DDNS: Select one button to enable or disable the DDNS service. Service Provider: Select one from the drop-down menu a nd press Sign up for registrat ion. User Name: Enter the same user name as the registration name. Password: Enter the password you set.
