10 Setting Up Y our Speaker System This unit has been designed to provide the best sound field quality with a full se v en-speaker system setup , using two extr a pairs of eff ect speak ers to gener ate the sound field plus one center speaker f or dialog.

27 English CONNECTING THE MAIN SPEAKERS T O THIS UNIT Connect the MAIN speak ers to the MAIN SPEAKERS terminals of this unit. Mak e sure that the jumper bars between the PRE OUT and MAIN IN jacks on the rear panel are in place . It is also possib le to use an e xternal power amplifier if more po w er is desired.
28 CONNECTING THE EFFECT SPEAKERS AND THE CENTER SPEAKER(S) T O THIS UNIT Connect the FR ONT eff ect speak ers to the FR ONT SPEAKERS ter minals of this unit. If the FRONT eff ect speak ers are not used, the FR ONT MIX s witch should be set to “ON”.
29 English ADDING A SUBW OOFER Y ou may wish to add a subw oof er to reinf orce the bass frequencies. This unit provides line-le v el subw oof er outputs. If y ou use one subwoof er , connect the MONO SUBW OOFER jac k to the INPUT jack of the subw oof er amplifier , and connect the speak er terminals of the subwoof er amplifier to the subwoof er .

32 METHOD OF CHANGING SELECTIONS The use of the remote control unit is recommended f or simple operation. 58 SELECTING AND EDITING PR OGRAM P ARAMETERS WHA T IS A SOUND FIELD? In order to e xplain the impressiv e functions of the DSP system, we need to first understand what a sound field really is . What really creates the rich, full tones of a live instrument are the multiple reflections from the w alls of the room.
