15 Keybo ar d The keyboard h as full-sized keys that include separate cursor k e ys, two Windows ke ys, and twelve fu nction key s. For inform ation on how to conn ect your keybo ard, see “Connecti ng periphe rals” on pa ge 29.
2 System tour 16 Function keys The function keys, F 1 - F12, le t you perform spec ific functions, depen ding on the applicatio n that uses them. Lock keys The k eyboard has thre e lock keys which y ou can toggle o n and off to switch be tween two function s .
17 W indow s keys The key board has two k eys that perform Window s-s pecific functions. Cursor keys The cursor keys, also called the arrow keys, let you move the cursor around t he screen . They serve the same function a s the arrow keys on the num eric keyp ad when the Num L ock is toggled off.
2 System tour 18 V olume contr ol/Mute k nob The volume control/ m ute knob controls the speaker volume. Turn it clockw ise or counter clockw ise to adjust the volume. Press it to toggl e between mute a nd sound. Multimedia keys Allow you to conveniently p lay, pause, stop, step forwa rd, or step back a song or movie using you r keyboa rd.
19 Internet/Sus pend keys The Internet/Suspend k eys consist of three buttons: Pr ogrammable keys The p rogrammab le keys help you directly a c cess a URL (Web site) or launch a ny program, files, or a pplication in your system. The fifth k e y is set to lau n ch the Windows M e dia Pla y er.

Sometimes, y ou will nee d to do a doub le-click (clicking t he same button twice quickly) or a right-click (c licking the right button quickly ).
21 Disk drives Your computer come s with the following disk drives: Floppy driv e Your compu ter’s 3.5-inch floppy drive accepts 720-KB a nd 1.44-MB capacity diskettes.
2 System tour 22 CD-ROM/ DVD-ROM/CD- RW drive Your compu ter may come with a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM or a CD-RW drive. This drive is l ocated on the front pa nel of yo ur computer.
