Adjust your grip so the si de switch is in a convenient location where you can t oggle it with your thumb or forefi nger , but not accidently press the switch while d rawing or navigating wi th the pen.

This feature allows you to set up th e tablet controls for left- or right- handed use, or to configure your tabl et to work with a tall monitor .

The tool you use to open the control panel is automatically selected, a nd the appropriate tabs for that tool are displayed.

64 Index Contents 64 Index Contents T ESTING YOUR TABLET T urn on your com puter and wait until the system ha s fully loaded. Ensur e that your computer has a working Bluetooth connection, either thr ough built-i n Bluetooth support or a USB-to-Bluetooth adapter (dongle).
65 Index Contents 65 Index Contents 3. If necessary , troubleshoot th e Bluetooth connection as follows : • Move the tablet closer to the antenna. Make sure ther e are n o metal or other high density obstructions in the line of sight b e tween the tablet and Bluetooth antenna.

A tablet status LED shou ld brighten, and the S WITCHES state should change for each button you click.

If the light does not come on after repeated attempts, your battery char ge may be too low . Connect the USB cable directly to a power ed USB port on your computer or powered USB hub.

74 Index Contents 74 Index Contents Y ou notice a screen delay at the beginning of pen or inking strokes. Open the W acom T ablet contr ol panel and go to the P EN tab. T ry decreasing the T IP D OUBLE C LICK D ISTANCE (see adjusting tip feel and double-click ).
75 Index Contents 75 Index Contents The screen cursor “jumps” back. Do not place an Intuos4 tool on the tablet when it is not in use, or when you ar e using another pointing device. Le aving your tool on the tablet may interfere with scr e en cursor positioning when using other input devices.
76 Index Contents 76 Index Contents WINDOWS-SPECIFIC PR OBLEMS When working in some applications, the ExpressKeys or T ouch Ri ng perform a differ ent function than what is set in the Wacom T ablet contro l panel. Some applications can override an d control the Expr essKey and T ouch Ring functions.
77 Index Contents 77 Index Contents MAC-SPECIFIC PROBLEMS At startup, a d ialog box appears telling you that either the driver failed to load or the tablet prefer ence s have not yet been cr eated.

82 Index Contents 82 Index Contents BATTERY LIFE INFORMATION All batteries age over time and gradually lose their ability to hold a char ge. The typical life span of a Li-Ion battery is two to thr ee years, whether it is used or not. Y ou will need to purchase a new tablet ba ttery when it is no longer capable of holding an adequate char ge.
83 Index Contents 83 Index Contents REPLACING THE TABLET BATTERY If your tablet battery has exc eeded its life span and can no longer be char ged or no longer holds a char ge, it will need to be replaced. Be sur e to use only th e recha r geable Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery designed for your tablet.
