2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing this camera. Every thing you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with your camera. Viv itar makes capturing those special moments as easy as possible. Please read this manual carefully first in order to get the most out of your digital camera.

4 Initial Camera Set up Inst alling the Batteries Inst alling the Memor y Card Insert 3 X AAA (1.5V) batteries. Alkaline batteries recommended.
5 W hen p owering the camera ON for the first time the camera will take you through the initial camera setup. Powering the Came ra ON 1) Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digit al camera. Use 3x AAA (1.5v) batteries . Alkaline batteries are recommended.
6 Set the Dat e and Tim e as Desir ed and press the SET but ton to co nfirm the selection an d mov e to the next part of the ca mera setup. Setting the ViviLink Default Option Once the Date and T ime have been set, you w ill be asked to set the default Viv iLink destination for photos and videos t aken with your camera.
7 Main Camera Modes Y our camera has different modes for the v arious camera functions. Y ou can switch modes by pressing the MODE button on your came ra af ter the camera has been powered ON. Photo Capture Mode Use this mode to capture pictures with your camera.

9 Computer Sy stem Requirem ents – WINDOWS OS T o be able to downloa d photos and videos to your PC, you w ill need the following minimum configuration: Pentium 4 processor or above w ith W indo.
10 Powering ON/OFF Your D igital Cam era Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digit al camera. If your camera comes with a rechargeable lithium battery , make sure it is fully charged before the first use. Make sure an SD card has been inserted into your came ra.
11 T o change the active c amera mode, make sure the camera is powered ON a nd press the MODE button on the back of the camera. When in Photo Capture Mode, this icon will display on the top -left corn.
12 Photo Cap ture Mode The Photo Capture mode allows you to capture pictures with your digital camera. T aking a Picture 1) W hile in Photo Capture mode, use the LCD display on the back of the camera to direct t he camera at the scene you would like to capture.
13 Photo Capture M ode Quick Functi on Buttons Y our digital camera has a four-directional pad that functions as Quick Function buttons: Button Function Lef t Scene Selection – Opens the Scene menu .
14 Flash Options There are several Flash options available on y our camera. The options appear on the Photo Capture Mode LCD screen in the se quence. T o change the Flash mode, press the UP Quick Function button until y ou arrive at your desired settings.
15 Photo Capture M ode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟ s Pho to Capture Mode:.
16 Scene Menu The Scene Menu allows you to choose scene se ttings that allow your camera t o a dapt pro perly to your current environment. NOTE: When selecting the HIGH SENSITIVITY Option, by default the camera switches of f the FLASH automatically ( if it‟s ON) to optimize the picture quality .
17 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the LCD screen. 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟ s default factory settings.
18 4) Press the SET button to select and save the desired option. 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item . 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode.
19 Face Detect Menu The Face Detect feature when set to „On‟ allow s the camera to u se a subject‟ s fa ce as the basis for balancing the other colors and focus in the camera ‟ s display . This feature is meant to ensure that the color and focus of your pictures will be consistently sharp and high -quality .
20 Smile Capture Menu The Smile Capture feature when set to „On‟ al lows the camera to automatically t ake a picture when it detects that a s ubject in the picture is smiling. Note: T o properly use the Smile Capture feature, please ensure the following: Macro mode off – Ensure that the Macro is set to „O ff‟.
21 Macro Menu W ith the Macro f eature you can capture images at cl ose rang e (30 ~ 45 cm). T o enable the Macro mode, select „On‟ . Th e flower icon will appear on the LCD and indicates that the Macro mode is ON . T o re turn to the normal mode and disable the Macro mode, select „Off ‟ .

24 Light Exposure Menu The Light Exposure setting helps y ou control the amount of light that enters y our camera‟s lens. This setting should be adjusted when the envir onment is lighter or darker tha n normal.

26 Language Menu Y ou can select your camera‟s langua ge setting by selecting the desired language from the Language menu. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Language menu.
27 T o Set the Date and Tim e: 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIG HT direction control bu ttons to scroll and sel ect the Date/T ime menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to highlight the “Date Setup” menu option then press the SET button to select the option.
28 Auto Power Off Menu Y ou can use the Auto Power Of f feature in order to conserv e you camera‟s battery life. The designated time represents when your camera wil l automatically power off.
29 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y our previous mode. 8) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟ s default factory setti n gs.
30 6) If you would like to proceed with the reset, select „Y es‟ and press the SET button to confirm. The settings will be reset. Y ou will automatically exit the menu and ret urn to the previous mode w ith the digital c amera settings set to the Factory Default Settings.
31 Photo Play back Mode W hen y ou first turn on the camera, the camera wil l be in Photo Capture mode by default . Press the MODE button twice to open the Playback Mod e. T he playback mode will allow you to review and edit photos and videos that you‟ve already taken with y ou camera.

33 Delete Menu W hile in the Playback Mode, you can delete pictures from your camera using the Delete menu. 1) View the photo you would like to delete. 2) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 3) Pr ess the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Delete menu.
34 V iviLink Menu The Viv iLin k technology allow s you to quickly a nd easily upload y our camera‟ s photos and videos to the social networks of your choice with the accomp anying V ivitar Ex perience Image Manager application. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.
35 Crop Image Menu Y ou can crop any picture on your camera with the Crop feature. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Crop Image menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN to highlight the Crop option.
36 Print This Photo Menu Y ou can use the Print Photos menu to print the photos that are on your ca mera directly to a Pictbridge compatible printer . 1) Scroll through your pictures and find the one you would like to print. 2) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.
37 Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mo de allows you to capture videos with y our digital camera. W hen the camera is first powered ON, the camera will be in Photo Capture Mode.

41 Image Quality Menu The Image Quality menu allows you to select the de sired quality level of the images taken by you r camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher image quality level will also take up more memory on your camera. 1) Press the S ET button to open the menus for the current mode.

43 Color Effect M enu Y ou can choose to add a color ef fect to the images taken with y our camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Color Effect menu.

48 Frequency Menu The options in the Frequency menu represent the frequency of the electrical current in fluorescent lighting sources in your locale. If your camera is set to a frequency that does not match your country‟ s electric current, you may see f lickering or waves on the images t aken by your camera.
49 5) T o proceed with the format, select “Y es” and press the SET button. Y ou will be asked to confirm the formatting of the memory card. Select “No” to exit without formatting. Select “Y es” a nd press the SET button to begin. The memory card will be completely formatted.

53 Protect/Lock Menu Pictures and Vi deos t aken with y our camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being made to the files. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode . 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Protect/Lock menu.
54 Installing the Soft ware Y ou must be connected to the internet to inst a ll and run the Viv it ar Experience Image Manager sof tware. 1) Insert the installation CD into y our CD-ROM drive. The installation sc reen should automatically open. 2) On PC: The V ivit ar Experience Image Manager Inst aller window appears.

58 Transfer media f rom my camera to my computer manually (Using Macintosh) 1) Use the USB cable that came with your camera to connect your camera to your c omputer . 2) MSDC appears on the LCD. 3) The camera‟s device icon appears on the desktop. 4) Click on the device icon and open the DCIM folder and the folder ins ide to view the media files.
