Viv itar ma kes capturing those special moments as easy as possible. Please read this manual carefully first in order to get the most out of your digital camera.

5 W hen pow ering the digital video recorder ON for the first time the digital video recorder will take you through the initial setup. Powering th e Digi t al video recorder ON 1. Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital video recorder .
6 Setting th e V ivi Link Defaul t Option Once the Language has been set, you will be asked to “C onfirm Viv iLin k Photo and Video Social Network site” to set the default V iviLink destin ation for photos and videos taken w ith y our camer a.
7 Main Camera Modes Y o ur camera has dif ferent modes for the various camera functions. Y o u can switch m odes by pressing the MODE (M) button on your cam era after the camera has been powered ON. V ideo Capture Mode Use this mode to capture videos with your digital camera.

9 Computer Sy stem Requirements – WINDOWS OS T o be able to download photos and videos to your PC, you will need the fo llowing minimum configuration: Pentium 4 proc essor or above with W indows.
10 Using Your D igital Camera Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digit a l camera. If your came ra comes with a rech argeable lithium ba ttery , make sure it is fully charged before the first use. Make sure an SD card has been inserted into your camera .
11 W hen the camera is f irst powered ON, the Video Capture Mode will b e active. The icons that appear on the LCD screen are the best default settings so that you can begin to capture and enjoy clear quality videos and photos. T o change the active camera mode, make sure the camera is powered ON and press the MODE (M) button .
12 Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mo de allows you to capture videos with your digital camera. W hen t he camera is first powered ON, the camera will be in Video Capture Mode. T aking a V ideo 1. W hile in Video Capture Mod e use the LCD displa y to direct the camera at the scene you would like to capture.
13 Hide/Sho w the LC D Icons The display of the icons on the LCD screen can be hidden or visible as desired . 1. Hold the MODE button for 2 seconds to hide the display of the icons on the screen.
14 Scene Menu The Sc ene Menu allows y ou to c hoose scene settings that all ow your ca mera t o a dapt pro perly to your current environment. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Scene menu.
15 Image Quality Menu The Image Quality menu allow s y ou to select the desired q uality le vel of the ima ges taken by y our camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher image quality l evel will a lso take up more memory on your camera. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.
16 Color Effect M enu Y o u can choose to add a color ef f ect to the images taken with y our camera. 1. Press the S ET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Color Effect menu.
17 Light Exposure Menu The Light Exposure setting helps you control the amount of light that enters your camera‟s lens. This setting should be adjusted when the environment is lighter or darker than normal.

20 Keep in mind that formatt ing th e memory card w ill perman ently delete all of the content on your camera ’ s memory card . This option can o nly delete all of the content at on e time. If you would like to delete ind ividual images, use the D elete menu in the camera‟s Play back mode.
21 Y o u will automatically exit the menu and return to the previous mode with the digit al video recorder settings set to the Factory Default Settings. If you would like to exit the format, select „ Cancel and p ress the SET button. Y o u will automatically exit the menu and return to the previous mode.
22 Thumbnail V iew Use the W/Zoom Out button to display the images on your camera in Thumbnail V iew . The images (videos and photos) on your camera will be displa yed in a 3 X 3 matrix where you can scroll and select images from the thumbnails. 1. Press the W/Zoom Out button.

25 If you do not w a nt to delete all of your videos and photos, se lect „ Cancel' an d press the SET butto n. All images will remain on your SD card and you will exit the menu and return to the Playback mode.
26 Hide/Sho w the LC D Icons The display of the icons on the LCD screen can be hidden or visible as desired . 1. Hold the MODE button for 2 seconds to hide the display of the icons on the screen. 2. Press the MODE button again to redisplay the icons on the screen.
27 Scene Menu The Sc ene Menu al lows you to c hoose scene sett ings that all ow your ca mera t o a dapt pro perly to your current environment. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Scene menu.
28 Image Quality Menu The Image Quality menu allow s y ou to select the desired quality le vel of the images taken by y our camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher image quality le vel will also take up more memory on your camera. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.

33 W hen the camera sits idle f or the designated period of time, the camera will shut off completely and will need to be pow ered on a gain with the power button before the nex t use. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2.
34 Format Memory Card Menu Y o u can u se the Format Memory Card m enu to delete all of the content that is currently on your camera‟s memory card. Keep in mind that formatt ing th e memory card w ill perman ently delete all of the content on your camera ’ s memory card .
35 If you would like to proceed with the reset, select „Y es‟ a nd press the SET button to confirm. The settings will be reset. Y o u will automatically exit the menu and return to the previous mode w ith the digital video recorder settings set to the Factory Default Settings.
36 Thumbnail V iew Use the W/Zoom Out button to d isplay the i mages on your camera in Thumbnail View . The images (videos and photos) on your camera will be displa yed in a 3 X 3 matrix where you can scroll and select images from the thumbnails. 1. Press the W/Zoom Out button.

38 Protect/Lock Menu Pictures and Vi deos taken with your camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent a ny deletion or alteration being made to the files. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Protect/Lock menu.
39 All of your images will be permanently deleted. A blan k „No Files Exist‟ screen will appear . Press the MODE button to exit the „No Files Exist‟ screen a nd return to V ideo Capture mode. Remember : All your images will be deleted except images that are Protected/Locked.
40 On plugging the TV Cable (supplied) to the camera‟s A V slot and to the TV , the LCD screen tur ns blank. Use the digital video recorder as you would to capture and playback p hotos and videos. The images will appear on the TV instead of on the LCD screen .
41 Installing the Soft w are Y ou must be connected to the inter net to inst all and run the Viv it a r Experie nce Image Manager sof tware. 1. Insert the installation CD into your CD-R OM drive. T he installation screen should automatically open. 2. On PC: The Viv itar Experience Image Manager Installer window appears.
42 5. If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window o pens, choose your language and click “Next” to open the next w indow . 6. Select your camera model from the list and c lick “Next” to open the next window . 7. Click “N ext” to confirm your camera model selection and to install the application.
43 Getting Photos and Videos from your Camera to Your C omputer An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not disconnect the cable during transfer . Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their w ay to your computer . 1. Select the “Get Images” button from t he Main menu.
