2 Introduction Thank you for pur chasing this camera. Everything y ou need to take quality digital photo s and videos is included with you r camera. Vivitar makes cap turing those special moments as ea sy as possible. Note: Your camer a needs an SD Memory card (up to 32GB) for nor m al use.

6 Preparing Your Camera for Use Battery Installa tion Make sure the 4 AAA batterie s hav e b een inserted prop erly into you r digital camera w ith the correct po larity. The use of re chargeable batter ies is not re commended. Please see illustrat ion below.
7 1) Locate the SD car d slot located on the bo t tom, inside of the camera. 2) Insert a compatible SD memory car d correctly in the dire ction shown. 3) Press the me mory card u ntil y ou hea r a “ Click ” sound. T he me mory card when properly inserted will s it flush with the ca mera.

9 Powering the C amera OFF While the ca mera is on , you c an p ress the Power button again at a ny point to tur n you r camera OFF. You will see a “Go odbye” splash screen and then the camera w ill power off completely .
10 4) Setup Mode – U se this mode to c hange your ge neral camera settin gs. To select Setup M ode turn the Mo de Dial to the „ SET‟ icon. The icons tha t appear on the LCD screen are the be s t defaul t settings so that you can begin to cap ture and enjoy clear quality v ideos and photo s.
11 4) At any time you can press the MENU button to exit the menus and return to the previous scree n. Macro Switch / Your camera con tains a Macro Switch that allow s you to manually enable or disable the Macro mode on your ca mera. While using t he Ma cro mode, you c an capture videos and photos a t close range (30 – 45 c m).
12 2) Move the T /Zoom In and W /Zoom Out to be tter set the ca mera display if de sired. Note: The actual shape of these b uttons may vary per camera model. 3) Press the red Video Record button in the middle of the Mod e Dial to start the video capture .
13 Hide/Show the LCD Icons The display of the icons on the LC D screen can be hidden or vi sible as de sired. 1) Press the DISP but ton to hide the display of the icon s on the screen. 2) Press the DISP bu tton again for the LCD scree n to go blan k thus helping to save battery consumption.

Anti-Shake Menu The Anti-Shake fea ture reduces i mage corruption that can be caused by movement of the camera while capturing the image .

18 LCD screen. Video Playback Mode The Video Playbac k Mode allows you to review and edit videos and photos that you‟ve already taken with you camera. To access Video Playback Mod e, press the Play back button , above the M ode Dial. To exit Video Playba ck Mode and r eturn to your previou s screen, press the Playback button again.

25 Night V ision : LED Flash Option To increase the lighting in dark si tuations, press the OK/LED button to activate the LED Flash Light on the front of the ca mera below the len s. Press the OK/LED button again to turn the LED off. When the LED ligh t is on, an icon on the bottom right of the LCD screen app ears.

White Balance Menu The White Balan ce feature allow s your camera to ad just the coloring of the captured i mages depending on the type of ligh t source in the current environ ment.
28 Exposure Menu The Exposure setting helps you control the a mount of light that enter s your ca mera‟s lens. This set ting should be adjusted when the env ironment is lighter or darker than normal.

31 Date & Time St amp Me nu When you capture an im age w it h your camera, the image will include a time stamp with the date and time that the image w as taken. You can also di sable the timesta mp for future i mages that w ill be taken with yo ur camera.

34 Photo Playback Mod e The Photo Play back Mode allow s you to review and edit videos an d photos that y ou‟ve already taken with you camera. To access Photo Playback Mod e, press the Play back button , above the Mo de Dial. To exit Photo Playb ack Mode an d return to your pr evious screen, press the Playback button again.

40 Power Frequency Menu The options in the Power Freque ncy menu represen t the frequency of the electrical current in fluore s cent lighting source s in your locale. If you r camera is set to a frequency th at does not match your country‟s electric current, y ou may see wa ves on the images taken by your camera.

45 Connecting the Camera to a TV The camera has a A V port to use your larger TV screen in place of the camera`s LCD screen. On plugging the TV -out cable (supplied ) to the cameras A V out jac k, the LCD scre en will turns blank. U se the camera as you wo uld to capture and playback phot os and videos.
46 Installing the Software You must be connec ted to the i nternet to install and run the Vivita r Experience I mage Manager softwar e. 1) Insert the installat ion CD into your CD-ROM drive . The installation scree n should automatically ope n. 2) On PC: The Vivi tar Experien ce Image Man ager Installer wind ow appears.
47 4) If you do not ha ve internet acces s at the time of inser ting the CD-ROM, connect to the internet and then click the “Ins tall Vivitar Exp erience Image Man ager” button to be gin the installation . Note: If you do not have internet access, you can still download media from the camera.
48 8) Please wa it while the application is being installed on your co mputer. 9) Please review the license ter m s. On PC and Macinto sh: Click the “I accept the terms of this license agreement” and then click “Nex t ” to continue.
49 Connecting the Camera to the Computer 1) Use the USB cable that came w ith your camera to connec t your camera to your computer. 2) Power the ca mera on. 3) The first time you connect the dev ice to the co mputer you will have to wa it a few seconds until the computer recogn izes the device.
50 2) The “Get Image s from device” w indow ope ns. 3) You can selec t to download photos, videos or both. 4) Select your ca mera (removable disk) from the device wind ow. If your ca mera is the only US B device connected then it will be selected automatically.
51 8) Click the “Get Image ” button to tra nsfer the photo s and videos fro m your camera to your co mputer. 9) A media dow nload progress bar a ppears on the bo ttom left show ing t he number o f media files down loading to your computer. A message appear s when the dow nload is complete .
52 Transfer media from my camera to my computer manually (Using Windows) 1) Use the USB cable that came w ith your camera to connect your ca mera to your compu ter . 2) MSDC appea rs on the LCD. 3) A window appear s with a list of option s, select “ Open folder to view f iles ” and click OK .
53 4) Click on the device icon and open the DCIM folder an d the folder inside to view the media files. 5) Select t he fil es and drag them into your c omputer . Optionally , select the files and choose Copy from the Finder‟s Edit menu. Then sele ct a folder and choose Paste fro m the Edit menu.
