5 ViewSonic VG181 E N G L I S H Important Safety Instructions 1 Read these instructions thoroughly . 2 Follow all warnings and instructions marked on this product. 3 Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning. See the Cleaning the View Panel section in this guide.
6 ViewSonic VG181 E N G L I S H 1 Connect video cable Mak e sure that both the ViewP anel ® and the computer are powered OFF . Connect the video cable from the back of your computer to the analog and/or the Digital Video Interface (D VI) inputs on the back of the display depending on the signal of your computer(s).
7 ViewSonic VG181 E N G L I S H Installation-W all Mount (optional) T o g et a wall mounting kit, contact V iewSonic ® or your local dealer . The VG181 is compatible with the VESA wall mounting standards. T o c o nve r t the desk-mounted VG181 to a wall-mount installation, do the following: 1 Disconnect DC po wer .
Using the ViewPanel ViewSonic VG181 8 Using the Vie wP anel Setting the Timing Mode The timing mode consists of the resolution and refresh rate (vertical frequency). After setting the timing mode, use the V ie wSonic OnV ie w ® controls in this section to make adjustments.
9 ViewSonic VG181 Using the ViewPanel Landscape/P or trait Modes* The VP181 V iewP anel ® can operate in either Landscape or Portrait mode (see below). T o switch from Landscape (default) to Portrait modes, do the follo wing: (1) Face the front of V ie wPanel.

11 ViewSonic VG181 Using the ViewPanel 1 Press the [1] button on the F ront Control P anel to display the Main Men u shown on the right. 2 Press the [ ▼ ] or [ ▲ ] button to scroll down or up the menu to the desired option. 3 Press the [2] button to select a menu option.
Using the ViewPanel ViewSonic VG181 12 Main Menu The Main Menu is shown belo w . CONTRAST adjusts the difference between the image background (black level) and the foreground (white level). [ ▼ ] decreases contrast, [ ▲ ] increases contrast. BRIGHTNESS adjusts background black level of the screen image.
13 ViewSonic VG181 Using the ViewPanel Image Adjust Menu The Image Adjust menu is shown belo w . A UT O TUNE automatically sizes, centers, and f ine tunes the video signal to eliminate "noise" and distortion. Press [2] to activate. Shortcut: Before displaying the Main Menu, press [2] to acti v ate A UTO TUNE.
Using the ViewPanel ViewSonic VG181 14 ViewMatch ® Color Menu The V iewMatch Color menu is sho wn below: Color T emp Select provides se veral color options: se veral preset color temperatures and User Color which allows you to adjust red (R), green (G), and blue (B).
15 ViewSonic VG181 Using the ViewPanel Advanced Menu Selecting the Adv anced Menu from the main menu takes you to the submenu sho wn below . Scaling adjusts the video input signal to the screen size using the following options.
Using the ViewPanel ViewSonic VG181 16 Setup Menu The Setup Menu takes you to the submenu sho wn below . Input Select allows you to toggle between two input ports – between an analog and digital signal. Press [ ▼ ] or [ ▲ ] to select an input signal.
