13 Before first use o To remove any residue from the oven that may have been left from the manufacturing process, you should select the fan oven function (conventional oven for BO628SS ) and set the thermostat to its maximum temperature setting. o It is perfectly normal for a smell to be produced during this process.
14 Timer functions The minute minder function The minute minder function is a count down time that can be set on the oven programmer/timer. When the countdown time has finished, an audible signal will sound. o Press and hold down the programme button (6) until the decimal point starts to flash to enter programming mode.
15 The semi-automatic cooking function This function will allow you to se t a countdown time similar to the minute minder function, however the oven will switch off at the end of the cooking time. o Place the food that you want to cook inside of the oven and close the door.
16 The end of cooking function This function is similar to the semi-automatic function, however instead of setting a countdown time, you select the ti me of day that you want the oven to switch off at. o Place the food that you want to cook inside of the oven and close the door.
17 o IMPORTANT: If you have not turned the oven function selector knob and thermostat control knob to their OFF positions, when you reset the oven it will continue to heat. The automatic cooking function This function will allow you to set the time of day that you want the oven to switch off at and how long you want the oven to cook for.
18 o At the end of the cooking time, an audible signal will sound and the automatic cooking symbol will flash on the LED display. o To reset the oven and cancel the audible alarm, press the programme button until the oven in use symbol appears on the LED display and the automatic cooking symbol goes out.
o Press the programme button (6) and the LED display will show “n” followed by a number. 1 is the loudest volume, 2 is the middle volume and 3 is the quietest volume.
FULL GRILL (BO636SS): This method of cooking utilises the inner and outer parts of the top element, which directs heat downwards onto the food. This function is suitable for grilling medium or large portions of sausages, bacon, steaks, fish etc.
21 The light will turn off when the te mperatur e set on the thermostat control knob has been reached. It wi ll cycle on and off throughout the cooking time. You should not place food inside the cavity, until the correct cooking temperature has been reached.
22 Warnings o Keep the oven door closed when using any of the cooking functions, including all grill functions. o Do not use aluminium foil to cover the enamelled baking tray or heat items wrapped in aluminiu m foil under the grill. The high reflectivity of the foil could potentially damage the grill element.
Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning operations must only be carried out when the oven is cool. The appliance should be disconnected from your mains supply before co mmencing any cleaning process. o The oven should be thoroughly cl eaned before it is operated for the first time and after each use.
o Any damage that is caused to the appliance by a cleaning product will not be fixed by Ba umatic free of charge, even if the appliance is with in the guarantee period. Replacing the oven bulb IMPORTANT: The oven must be disconnected from your mains supply before you attempt to either remove or replace the oven bulb.
Removing the oven door for cleaning To facilitate the cleaning of the insi de of the oven and the outer frame of the oven, the door ca n be removed as follows:- o The hinges (A) have two movable bolts on them (B) . o If you raise both of the movable bolts (B) , then the hinges (A) are released from the oven housing.
o Do not immerse the door in water at any time. Removing the inner door glass for cleaning o To facilitate cleaning, the door glass can be lifted out. o Open the door of the oven to a 45° angle. o There is a plastic sealing section at the top of the oven door, which has 4 small slots in it.
o This will allow you to access the inner door glass. Carefully lift the door glass slightly at the top of the oven door and then slide the door glass towards you, remo ving it from the oven door. o IMPORTANT: Be careful to note which way around the oven door glass sits inside the oven door.
o This appliance should be wired into a 13 A double pole switched fused spur outlet, having 3 mm contact separation and placed in an easily accessible position adja cent to the appliance. The spur outlet must still be accessible even when your oven is located in its housing.
Positioning the appliance o Ensure that the aperture that you will be fitting the oven into is of the size given in the above diagram. o The oven must be fitted into an oven housing with the ventilation cut-outs shown in the “Ventilati on requirements” section on the next page.
Ventilation requirements (Figure shows the ventilation an d cut-out requirements for the installation of the appliance into a standard kitchen unit). (Figure shows the ventilation and cut- out requirements for the installation of the appliance into a tall housing unit).
Installing the oven into the housing unit o IMPORTANT: Before installing the appliance into the housing unit, YOU MUST attach the “drip ca tcher” to the lower front edge of the oven using the 3 screws supplied. The above line drawing shows how you attach the “drip catcher”.
32 My appliance isn’t working correctly o The oven isn’t coming on. * Check that you have selected a cooking function and a cooking temperature. * Check that the automatic cooking symbol (1) isn’t lit on the LED display. o There appears to be no po wer to the oven and grill.
* Refer to page 23 and follow th e “Replacing the oven bulb” section. o I am getting condensation in my oven. * Steam and condensation is a natu ral by product of cooking any food with high water content, su ch as frozen food, chicken etc. * You may get condensation in the oven cavity and forming between the oven door glasses.
