7 2.3 Installing the SIM Card There are two steps to inst all the SIM card: 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert the SIM card. 2.4 (Optional) Installing the microSD Card If you want to expand your phon e memory, you can also inse rt a microSD card. 1.
8 2.5 Installing the Battery 1. Angle the edge labeled a (with the contacts) int o the bottom end of the battery compartment. 2. Push the edge labeled b into the compartment until the battery clicks firmly into place. 2.6 Charging the Battery Before charging the battery, ensur e that it has been proper ly installed on your phone.
9 2.7 Impo rtant Info rmation A bout the Battery • If the battery has not been used for a long time, you may not be able to powe r on your mobile phone immediately af ter you begin charging th e battery. Allow the battery to charge for a few minut es with the phone powere d off before attempting to power the phone on.
10 2.8 Power Sa ving Tips The longevity of battery power depends on th e network to which y ou connect, and how you use your mobile phone . Try the following to conserve ba ttery power: • When you do not need 3G services, set your phone to conn ect to a 2G network.

15 2.12.2 Notification Panel Your mobile phone will notify y ou when you receive a new message or there is an upcoming event. The notification panel al so informs you of alarms and settings . Open the notification panel to see your network oper ator or to view a mes sage, reminder, or event no tifica tion.

21 3.3. 2 Swit ching Between Calls If you receive a new ca ll while you are alread y in a call, you can swit ch between the two calls. 1. While you are in the first call and the second call comes in, answer the incoming call, and then touch Swap . 2. The current call is placed on hold and you are connected to the first c all.
22 3.5. 2 Sett ing t he TTY Mode 1. touch > Settings > Call settings > TTY mode . 2. Select one TTY mode. • TTY Off : The standard voice speak ing mode and the listening mode. • TTY Full : Transmit and r eceive the TTY characters. • TTY HCO : Transmit TTY characters but re ceive by listening to the earpiece.
23 All of your contacts are disp layed alphabetically in a list that yo u can scroll through. 4.2 Importing Contacts fr om a SIM Card 1. In the contact list, touch > Manage contacts . 2. Touch Copy from SIM card . 3. Wait for the SIM card contents to be loaded.
24 4.5 Searching for a Con tact 1. In the contact list, touch > Search . 2. Enter the name of the contact you wish to search for. As y ou type, contacts with matching names ap pear below the searc h box. On the contact list screen, you can touch a letter on the right to display contacts starting with the touc hed letter.

27 group. 4.11 Joining and Sep arating Contacts You may have duplicate c ontacts if you import con tacts by: • Adding an account , such as a Gmail account . • Using other metho ds, such as exc hanging emails. To avoid duplication, join two or mor e contacts together to form a si ngle contact.
28 3. Touch Send . 4. Select the way you prefer to send the cont acts you have se lected, for example Bluetooth or Email. You can send one contact by another way. Touch and hold a contact, touch Send contact , and then select the way you prefer to send .

31 5.1.4 Using the L andscap e Keyboard If you find the keyboard inconvenient or difficult to use, turn your mobile phone sideways. The screen will display the keyboard in landscape or ientation, providing you with a wider keyboa rd layout. 5.2 Customizing Keyboard Setting s 1.

36 7 Getting Connected 7.1 Mobile Net works Your mobile phone will be automatically configured to use your network operator’s 2G/3G service (if av ailable) when yo u turn on the phone for the f irst time. Note that the SIM/USIM/IS IM card must be inse rted.
37 7.2.2 Connec ting to a Wireless Ne twork 1. After turning on Wi-Fi, touch > Settings . 2. Touch Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi setti ngs . You will see a list of detected Wi-Fi networks in the Wi-Fi networks section. 3. Touch a Wi-Fi network to connect to it.

40 Opening a Bookmark 1. In a browser window, touch , and then touch Bookmarks . On the Bookmarks screen, touch the Histo ry tab to view the pages you have visited, or touch the Most visited tab to view the pages you have vis ited most frequently. 2. Touch the bookmark of the website you want to open.

The camera opens in lands cape mode, ready t o take a picture or record a video.

47 8.4 Listening to the FM Radio The FM radio lets you listen to FM radio programs on your mobile phone. Since the FM radio uses the provided wired ste reo headset as its antenn a, before opening the application, connect the head set to your phone’s t he audio jack.
48 9.1 Creating a Google Acco unt If you do n ot have a Google account , you can create one : 1. After reading the setup information, touc h Next . 2. Touch Create . 3. Enter the first name, last name, and user name for your Google ac count, and then touch Next .

You can use it to communicate in real time with other people using Talk on a phone or on the web. 9.3.1 Open ing Talk On the Home screen, touch > Talk to open the application. 62 4. Touch Ringtone to select a ringto ne for the alarm. 5. Select the Vibrate check box to enable the phone t o vibrate, in addition to playing the ringtone. 6. Touch Label to enter a name for the alarm. 7. Touch Done . The alarm clock still works when the phone is powered off.
63 11.7 Weather Clock You can us e Weather Clock to check the date and t ime of cities around the wo rld, to get the latest weather of any cit y in any time and to share we ather information wit h others. You need to turn on the GPS and data service on your pho ne before using weather clock.
