The felling or back cut is made on the side opposite and at least 2 inches above the hori zontal undercut (the felling cut is made higher as the size of the tree increases). Place the saw so the hand guard is close to the tree trunk and the bucking cleat is dug in.

Failure to do so may result in damage to the quick couplers and cause overheating of the hy - draulic system.

When diagnosing faults in operation of the saw , always make sure the hydraulic power source is supplying the correct hydraulic ow and pressure to the saw as listed in the table.
