19 English Indicators The computer has two easy-to-read statu s indicators to the right of the keyboard, a nd four on the fr ont panel. The battery, media, Bluetooth and wire less com munication sta tus indicators are visible even when the LCD display is closed .
20 English 1. Charging: The light shows amber when the battery is charging. 2. Fully charged: The light sho ws green when in AC mode. Easy-launch buttons Located to the right of the keyboard are four buttons. These bu ttons are call ed easy-launch buttons.
21 English Trackpoint and click buttons The built-in trackpoint is a poi nting device that senses movement on its surface. This means the cursor respon ds as you use your fing er to move the trackpoint. Its central location on the keybo ard provides optimum comfort and support.
22 English Note: When using these inputs, keep them — and your fingers — dry and clean. The scroll wheel is sens itive to finger movement; hence, the lighter the touch, the better the response. Tapping harder will not increase click button responsiveness.
23 English Using the keyboard The keyboard has full-sized keys with an e mbedded numeric k eypad, as well as separate lock, cursor and Wind ows keys, and hotkey controls. Lock keys and embedded numeric keypad The keyboard has three lock keys which you can toggle on and off.
24 English Windows keys The keyboard has two keys that perform Windows-specific functions. Hotkeys The computer employs hotkeys or key combinations to access m any computer controls, including screen brightness, volu me output and the BIOS utility.

33 English Frequently asked questions The following is a list of possible situations that may arise during the use of your computer. Easy solutions are provided for each o ne. I pressed the power button, but the computer doesn’t start or boot up. Look at the power indicator: • If it is not lit, no power is being supplied to the computer.
34 English No audio is heard from the computer. Check the following: • The volume may be muted. In Windo ws, look at the volume control (speaker) icon on the taskbar. If it is crossed out, clic k on the icon and deselect the Mute all option. • The volume level may be too lo w.

47 English Built-in network feature The built-in network feature allows you to connect you r computer to an Ethernet-based network. To use the network feature, connect an Ethernet cab le from the Ethernet (RJ-45) port on the chassis of the comp uter to a network jack or hub o n your network.
