6 Intr oduction Congratulations on your purchase of a Sony Multimedia CPD-101VS/ 201VS display! This display incorporates over 25 years of Sony experience with T rinitron display technology , ensuring excellent performance and outstanding reliability .
7 Installation • Prevent internal heat build-up by allowing adequate air cir culation. Do not place the unit on surfaces (rugs, blankets, etc.) or near materials (curtains, draperies) that may block the ventilation holes.
8 W ar ning on Power Connection • Use the supplied power cord. For the customers in U.S.A. If you do not do this, this display will not conform to mandatory FCC standards. For the customers in UK. If you use the display in the UK, please use the supplied UK cable with the UK plug.

14 Pr eset and user modes The Multimedia CPD-101VS/201VS display has factory pr eset modes for the 9 most popular industry standar ds for true “plug and play” capability .
15 p T o enter new timings When using a video mode that is not one of the 9 factory pr eset modes, some fine tuning may be r equired to optimize the display to your prefer ences. Simply adjust the display according to the adjustment instructions. The adjustments will be stor ed automatically and recalled whenever that mode is used.
16 Damper wir e Using a white backgr ound, a very thin horizontal line on the screen may be visible as shown below . This line is the damper wire. The T rinitron tube has a vertically striped Aperture Grille inside. The Aperture Grille allows mor e light to pass through to the scr een giving the T rinitr on CRT mor e color and brightness.
17 Adjustments Adjustments When one of the pr eset-type signals is input, no picture adjustment is necessary . Y ou can, however , adjust the picture to your pr eference by following the procedur e described below . T o adjust the display , turn on the display and computer .

The default setting is “AUT O.” p AUTO mode This mode is effective only with “IntelliLight ” compatible applications.
33 n p MODE 2 Higher contrast and sharpness is applied acr oss the entire scr een. MODE 2 is designed to enhance graphic games and movie/video presentations. ✔ Note on MODE 2 Whenever the screen resolution is changed, power saving activated, or power turned off , MODE 2 is cancelled and GPE returns to the A UT O mode.
