USING THE O VEN 5.1 Precautions and General Advice When the oven is used for the first time, it should be h eated to the maximum temperature (250°C) for long e nough to burn off any oily residues left by the manufacturing pr ocess, which migh t contaminate foods with unpleasant smells.
