C 1 1.0 Introduction This manual describes the functiona l, mechanical and inte rface spec ifications for the following Seagate ® ST1.3 Series drives: • ST612712DE-12GB, ST61 0712DE-10GB, ST680712DE-8 GB and ST660712DE-6GB disc drives with a ZIF (zero inser tion force) con nector using an IDE interf ace.

Using 3.3-volt power , the drive is expe ct ed to operate wit h a maximum of 7 0 mV peak-t o-peak squa re-wave injected nois e at up to 20 MHz.

Actual drive cas e temperatur e should not exce ed 70°C (158°F) within the ope rating ambient conditions.

C 13 2.8.6.1 Operating sweep sine vibration The following lists the maximum operat ing sweep sine vibration levels that the drive may experience while meeting the performan ce standards spe cified. It will c onsist of a forward and backward sweep from 10 Hz to 500 Hz to 10 Hz.

C 2.8.6.4 Nonoperating random vibration The test consi sts of 15 minutes of ra ndom vibration using the power spe ctral density (PSD) levels specified in the table below . The vibration test level is 3.01 Gs RMS. The drive will not incur any physical damage when subsequen tly put into op eration.
